Rating: Summary: Best Photo & All-Around Printer [for price] Review: Good price. Cheapest overall cost of ownership because inkjets are cheaper than any HP or Epson and last a very long time (don't worry about it having 1 color cartridge vs. 3 or more separate color cartridges, it's still very cheap). Photo quality comparable to lab. Very good text on plain paper, even in draft mode, and better than Canon i850. Graphics (webpages and photoshop images) are better than i850. Get this over the Canon i850 UNless you're going to print more photos than text (the i850 is slightly better but only under intense scrutiny). Also, this printer can take different kinds of camera media (cf, sm) while the i850 can't. Had it for a month, no problems whatsoever. For the cost of photo quality paper & ink get this printer, otherwise go to a photolab to get your digital pictures printed.
Rating: Summary: Great Value Review: This printer does a very good job for the price. The color pictures are pretty crisp and clear and sometimes better than Lab quality. You can use this camera as a regular printer too. Set up is real fast. The ink cartridges are cheap and last long. Do not buy the perforated Canon Glossy paper, the regular Canon Glossy paper should be fine. I did not notice any difference in print quality between the Canon Glossy Paper print and the Canon Pro paper print. Overall I recommend this printer if you are willing to spend less that 75$ (I bought mine for 39$ look out for deals), dont go by the low price of this printer you will be amazed at the quality of the print outs.
Rating: Summary: Maybe my last printer! Review: I've owned HP and Epson inkjet printers and I had am thoroughly pleased and satisified with this printer's versatility. You won't go wrong with this printer. The Canon i470 printed excellent photos and like previous posters mentioned, doesn't waste or use a whole lot of ink. A definite must-buy if you're in the market for an affordable yet quality inkjet printer.
Rating: Summary: Excellent quality Review: Put a lot of time into researching photo printers before I picked up this Canon i470d from BestBuy. Brought it home and was immediately impressed. Fast, quiet, excellent quality photo printing. Easy to setup and easy-to-use software comes with. Great options....can print from media card or directly from Canon camera. Very happy with my purchase and I highly recommend it. Just don't forget to buy the USB cord that is NOT included. For your info, I just use this recreationaly to print out some 4x6's. Not doing any technically difficult photo editing or elaborate presentations.
Rating: Summary: Fantastic printer at a cheap price Review: I got this printer by accident after returning an Epson 925 from the demo table at Best Buy. The Epson did not work. This printer was marked down to $39.95 and had two full ink cartridges and all the software, book and so on. I had been an Epson diehard fan until I installed and printed with this printer. I was stunned at the excellent quality of all the prints - photo and other - and the ease of installation. The ink cartridges are cheap, but small. Still, I would buy this printer at full price which averages $99. I love this printer. I also have an older Epson 1200 Stylus Color that cost $500 new and it does not print photos as sharp and good as the Canon. I am now an i470 Canon convert. Buy this printer and you will be a happy camper!
Rating: Summary: Great for Pictuers Review: This is an excellent Photo printer. The only thing is it prints at its best on Canon Paper. It has a build in memory card reader and you can even print directly from your Canon Camera without using a PC. I printed about 50 4x6 pictures and I was amazed with the quality. They looked like regular pictures you could order from a photo lab. The price of the ink was quite low. Only 7.99 for the black cartridge and 18.00 for the color. You have to use canon paper to archive the best results I used HP Glossy Pluss and it was quite terrible. For the price it's a great deal. It has a decent driver that has some auto settings that yield good enhancements. I suggest using the canon software to print instead of printing directly from Windows for some reason it gave me better results. What I don't like is it makes odd sounds when its ideal and the ink cartridges seem smaller than a regular cartridge. I would recommend this printer to any amateur photographer who is looking to print better than decent pictures without burning a hole in your pocket.
Rating: Summary: Excellent buy !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: I bought this printer b/c I needed to do color prints and my HP wasn't doing justice. I LOVE this printer. I got it with a rebate, but it is worth the $99.99 retail 100%. My pictures are AWESOME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I show them to others and no one could tell I printed them myself. I am in awe of the printer. My sister and brother saw my picture quality and now they are BOTH buying one of these. It was easy putting it together, and came with some good software too. Very easy to use. You think it might be hard b/c of all the features, but it's very user-friendly. The only thing that might annoy you is it does make a bit of noise while it's loading to print and when it's done. Because the outcome is fabulous, this doesn't bother me at all. Note also, that I used the Canon glossy paper, then also with the HP photo glossy paper, the Canon paper had better results. Much cleaner than the HP. I highly recommend this.
Rating: Summary: Excellent Product Review: This printer does an excellent job with documents and photos. BEST OF ALL, I found a place where you can order the ink for only $3.95 for new cartridges! The site is: http://www.cssis4you.com
Rating: Summary: WOW! Incredible results at an incredible price Review: I continue to be amazed at the quality of this printer. I've owned Epson 6 color printers (785. 900) and the results from this four color printer are superior. Blazing fast with excellent skintone and resolution on a variety of papers. Don't get me wrong, the Epsons will give great results of you use the proper paper and print settings, but I found that if I used the highest quality settings the Epson's seemed to dump and waste ink. With the Canon I print at highest quality and get photos that look like photos, not like inkjet printouts that can't be touched lest you mar the surface. The fact that this printer can support direct printing from digicams and memory cards is an added bonus. Lastly, its very economical in the use of ink. And one more time, this printer is FAST!
Rating: Summary: Quick Service Review: I received the i470 d printer within a few days after placing the order. It works fine and arrived in good condition. I appreciated the fast communication on purchase with the seller.
