Rating: Summary: Great Sounding System Review: All the reviews are correct this system sounds excellent, it's hard to believe the price is so cheap. Plus the tweeters don't take up much desk space. I only wish the extra cable I had to get at Radio Shack was included. I can't wait until Sirius Satellite Radio start streaming 100 channels over the web. I will be one happy camper!
Rating: Summary: Great Sound for price Review: The ATP3 set sounds great for the sub-$... price paid for them. The bass is excellent and the sound reproduction is great. I have bought two sets for each of my computers since I liked the system so much. The only downside is that a headphone jack is not available, so if you want to use headphones you have to unplug the system and plug the headphones into the soundcard. True, there are PC sound systems out there that do sound better, but they typically cost much more.
Rating: Summary: Good Stuff! Review: These speakers are good stuff, it blew my sisters stereo away....the bass is AWESOME! And the satellites are also good...however, I still think those satellites could sound better however they sound just as good as the sony stereo my sister has. For a computer, speakers like these are almost overkill already.
Rating: Summary: Outstanding Quality Review: This is one of the best low-priced items anywhere! People might shrug off 2 speakers & 1 subwoofer, but this system is a must buy! The sound clarity is just superb, and the sub is wonderful. I use it for my PS2, and since PS2 sound is only stereo (no DTS or anything that is surround), this system blows all others away! The bottom line is that this system is a perfect gift or personal gift for anyone who wants top quality sound for a low price.
Rating: Summary: Not bad, but... Review: Well, I think they're a step up from what I had, a two piece system, but it's not great sound. I'm not an audiophile, so they're fine for me. The biggest problem I have is that there isn't a headphone jack.
Rating: Summary: Ear candy Review: I've had these speakers for a long, long time. I picked them up thinking "what the hell" and I've never regretted it since. The satellites look sleek, and really neat design. The tweakers are on the front of the satellites, and the mid-range bass is downward firing. If you put your hand above the satellites, you can feel the air being pushed out. The treble is awesome, and the bass from the subs are really great. I liked it so much that I went off and bought one for my girlfriend, too. It's replaced my stereo system for all purposes sine I listen to everything through a MP3 with my computer.
Rating: Summary: for the price - WOW! Review: i absolutely LOVE these speakers. i wanted the harmon kardon stick speakers so badly, but they were out of my price range for such a luxury. then, 3 of my friends had recently purchased these altec-lansing speakers and RAVED about them for the price! i bought them right away and i can't say enough about how wonderful they are. they are perfect for my new home-office room. the sound is amazingly clear, the subwoofer is fantastic. great treble and bass. the volume is also wonderful - i haven't even put them all the way up yet! this is one of the best buys i've made on accesories for my computer...you will be impressed!
Rating: Summary: Close to perfect!!! Review: This speaker system is well worth the price. Comparing with the other speaker sets for the same price range, the altec ATP3 is very clear with adequate output for all types of audio. The thing that impressed me was the 3" mid becuase it is so compact yet very powerful. If your lookin for a premium sound system for your computer, i would recommend these but if you wanna drop an additional 100 bucks for similar quality it wouldn' be worth it.
Rating: Summary: Not terrible, but no ACS 45.2 Review: Some Background: I have a year old pair of Altec ACS 45.2 speakers that I have always thought sound phenomenal for the price. The only problem I could find is that they sounded so much better at ear level....I had to raise them up. I saw the ATP3's and thought...wow....tweeters at ear level. I can't imagine why I didn't realize that a downfiring 3" midrange would be worthless. What really gets me is that the "experts" at Altec Lansing didn't figure it out...after all, midrange sound is certainly directional. Firing midrange sound straight down into my desk is useless. Anyway, I received my ATP3's today and I am genuinely unimpressed with the sound. They do sound a bit better at rally high levels, but the 45.2s sound A LOT better overall, with better balance and much better imaging. If you pick the speakers up and aim the 3" at you, they sound a lot better. I now know that midrange makes a huge difference; more than I thought it would make in a computer speaker. To make a long story short, save your money and get the 45.2s.
Rating: Summary: Perfect Review: Beautiful rich sound and ground shacking base. The quality of this system greatly surpasses its price. Its a perfect deal.
