Summary: Best low-cost 5 speaker system
Review: After reading some reviews on the product, I purchased it about a year ago. After listening to several other sets of PC speakers since, I STILL haven't found a better "bang for the buck" system. If you're an audiophile, you probably want a higher-end set of speakers. I recommend the ACS54 to anyone looking for great sound at a reasonable price.

Summary: Go Digital
Review: Bought a Montego II Quadzilla and these speakers. They're not the worst in the world, but they aren't the best either. For some reason I have problems with the right rear speaker. Anyway, if your loooking for Altec Lansing (excellent brand) quad speakers, pay a little more and go for the ACS-56.

Summary: Must Be Good
Review: I am a current owner of the Altec Lansing ADA885 model and boy they are great. I'm getting the ACS54 for my friend because I know that Altec Lansing is the best in speakers for your PC. This system will hopefully be as good as mine so I RECOMMEND you TRY IT TOO!

Summary: GREAT FOR THE PRICE
Review: I had the acs 56 computer speakers and i guess that if you dont have a digital sound card you cannot get the sound quality that it need so I think you should downsize to the ACS 54 because they give out the same sound just like the acs 56 so do the right thing go for the acs54.

Summary: Best BOOM for your buck!
Review: I have a PC but don't get me wrong, I love to accessorize, especially my speakers. When I first bought this 3 piece, I was impressed by its features: 27 Watt subwoofer OF WOOD so it doesn't have distortions, Magnetically shielded sattelites so you don't have to worry about putting it close to your PC. Best of all, it comes with 6 colors, one already on the satellites, five others including yellow, red, green and blue (already on) so you can accessorize accordingly to your iMAC. It has a bass knob on the subwoofer and a volume control on the right satellite.

This stylish system packs a nice 40 Watts, the two satellites together are 13 and the subwoofer is a generous 27. It comes with a nice cord that will look great with your current mac. It's got a input jack you easily hook to any microphone/line source and the AC adapter has a coiling wire that stretches so you can place the subwoofer under your desk, next to a table of wood which is good for the subwoofer to vibrate and shake on. I can feel it on my desk right now, do not underestimate these fancy looking speakers, they kick and has lots of boom!

So far, there's nothing bad, I only dislike the poorer treble quality of the satellites but they're not all that bad-only a little worse compared to my old Creative ones but that's because they were 20 watts, not 13.

If you are looking for a great speaker package to style your mac, go for it, if you have a PC and you are a hardcore gamer/frequent mp3 downloader or just listen to music a lot, I recommend the ACS5x systems. I think you'll find them to your liking with more bass and slightly more treble.

For macs, or the newer ones, to replace your Harmon Kardon speakers is a crime! Don't! Skip on these Altec Lansing ones for now unless you desperately seek deeper, richer bass.

Summary: Great sound quality in low price range
Review: I have these speakers for almost three years now and I'm very satisfied with the performance. Rock solid bass (don't compare it to Harmon Kardon or JBLs) at a very low price (I bought it for $52). If your Audio CD/MP3(VBR at 160-320Kbps range) is of good quality then it will certainly give out the best sound, same is the case with Games.

Summary: As good as it gets
Review: I have this set of speakers at home and the are just extroidinary. Don't just hear the music feel it. This set of speakers has the most bang for its buck around, and coming from a company like altec you kow its dependable. So I say if you want to upgrade your sound system this is the way to go.
