Summary: Worth The (Extremely Affordable) Price
Review: ...

In my humble opinion, if you are primarily interested in blowing off the roof while you crank up the volume for rap music, then put the CD in your stereo.

These speakers are not causing Dolby to lose sleep at night but for a home computer system, they are nothing short of excellent.

Sleek, extremely lightweight and designed so they can fit almost anywhere, they are wonderful for any home/office. And the sound? Perfect. Test them with any of Amazon's audio clips while you are on-line and you can see how professional Altec Lansing made these.

But what brings it all together is the price. For [a reasonable price], these perform better than most speakers that come with boom boxes and mini-audio systems.

So, if you want concert hall sound, go to a concert hall. But if you want to upgrade from the (usually) shoddy speakers that come pre-packed with most computers, these are the ones to buy.

Summary: WOW!
Review: For a month I researched and looked at so many speakers. I decided on these speakers. All I can say is WOW! These are better than most stereo speakers I have heard. I am MORE than satisfied and was TOTALLY blown away! Combine the unbelievable qualtiy with the price and these qualify for a five star rating. I can't say enough and have absolutely nothing negative to say about these speakers. I am very happy with my decision and would recommend these without hesitation. If you are looking, look no further.

Summary: Great sounding and affordable amplified speaker system
Review: I bought these ATP3 speakers as a cheap way of listening to a variety of sound sources, rather than just for their designed function as computer speakers. Connected up to a DVD/video player using a superior Y-adapter "headphone-plug-to-RCA-plugs" cable, I use these speakers to listen to televison, videos, DVDs, CDs and even internet radio. From all of these sources, the sound is great: the bass is rich and deep, the treble is precise and clear, and the sound hardly distorts even at the highest volume setting (which is quite loud). It's only within the midrange that these speakers sound thin, but then the upright speakers are quite narrow. However, the shallow midrange is a minor criticism, as other speaker setups in this price range sound much more "tinny" than the ATP3s, for example the BA635 3-piece setup from Boston Acoustics. Also, I don't know how good these speakers are for computer gaming. One improvement I'd like to see on a future model is a digital input for better signal-to-noise from digital sources, as already seen on the Boston Acoustic speakers. Overall, I'm convinced that these speakers are the best in their class and price range.

Summary: A+++ I have had these for over a year
Review: I bought these on clearance from Office max over a year ago and I must say that I am still amazed at their quality. They have withstood falling, moving from place to place, and long term periods of high volume. At first glance I thought they looked nice, but they didn't look too powerful. Wow was I wrong, I can crank these up very high and still get very high quality sound. Crisp highs, resonating lows, and mids that keep the music driving. Exceptional for all kinds of electronica, classical, rock, and hip hop.

I highly recommend these to anyone who doesn't have a need for surround sound.

Summary: A Great Deal On A Great Set Of Speakers
Review: I bought these speaker many years ago, probably about 7 years ago I think, for $100. They are a great set of speakers. I was happy with them then, and I am still happy with them now. Yes, I still have them and they still sound great. I listen to CD's in my car, on boom boxes, and on other computer speakers, but am still amazed at the quality and extra sound reproduction that I get with these speakers on my home computer or laptop. I see that Amazon has them for just over $50, at that price they are a steal. You won't be disappointed

Summary: Can't go wrong with these speakers.
Review: I bought these speakers a couple years ago and I still love them. They are small, take up very little desk space and sound great. Listening at low volume doesn't utilize the subwoofer much but when you turn it up a bit it's great. The only thing I wish they had is a headphone jack.

Review: I bought this product to accompany my laptop at college. It's great for a college dorm room/apartment. Good sound, great volume without distortion. Doesn't take up a lot of space. Affordable.

Summary: Petite Speakers, Huge Sound
Review: I first heard of these sleek speakers from a coworker of mine. I always heard him blasting tunes from his cubical and one day decided to see where all the noise was originating. Of course from the deep, rich sound I heard, I expected his speakers to be massive pieces of hardware - at least four speakers surrounding all four sides of his cubical. Instead I was amazed to find two small, slender Altec speakers standing next to his monitor with one medium-sized subwoofer under his desk. Immediately I had to own these beat-boxes.

Upon opening the box and attaching all the necessary wiring, I was ready to listen to my MP3's in less then five minutes.

I bought these speakers a long way back, and still use them today as if they were brand new. Every song I play on my computer sounds as though the band is standing directly in front of me. Each note is crystal clear, even when the volume is cranked up. The bass produced by the subwoofer is simply amazing. Just incase a lot of bass is not your cup-of-tea, the speakers come with treble and bass knobs, allowing you to fine tune the sound to your liking. In fact these Altec speakers have gone far beyond my expectations. I've put them through songs of hard rock, gun-blaring computer games, and all the while tested its volume to the max. Not once has it cracked or popped.

In conclusion I recommend these speakers to anyone who has a computer. Altec has proved that big sound doesn't necessarily come from big speakers, making it possible to save space while enjoying rich sound.

Summary: Wow - such a deal
Review: I originally purchased speakers from Comp USA consisting of a subwoffer and four speakers for around 30.00 and was mostly disappointed because whenever I listened to CDs or internet radio stations, the sound was pretty miserable. Although for video games the sound was a big improvement over my previous system. However, after almost a year I was becoming increasingly unhappy. After comparing a few speakers, I purchased this system on sale (and with a rebate). WOW. The sound is just terrific. I actually want to listen to music on my computer. Great full rich sound, including bass. No real distortion at most volume levels. No "speaker sound" with this system - the the music just IS if that make sense. Very good value. I only wish there was a headphone jack on the speaker, but I can live with it. The speakers provide good power - 50 watts and the subwoofer is very good. Extra bonus points for having the controls on the right sided speaker as opposed to most systems with controls on the left. Stylish, great sound, great value - what's not to like - as I say - such a deal!!

Overall, an excellent value for the money you will pay, and you won't feel get that guilty feeling!!
