Summary: BEWARE!
Review: A public service advisory: Bose is probably the most evil joke ever played upon audio consumers---buy one of their products and probably about 80% of your money is going directly to their advertising department. Sure they sound pretty good if all you're used to is Walmart off-brands like Durabrand, but there are far better products out there at the same pricepoint. All they do is take mediocre components and hype the living daylights out of them, as well as get them into mass market chains like Best Buy where the average Uninformed Naive Joe Consumer strolls in about to be royally fleeced. Joe thinks he's buying "High End" when in fact it's really Low End...only with a High End PRICETAG.

You don't need to take my word for it, just go to Internet audio forums like

I'd recommend the Logitech Z-2200/Z-2300 instead, which goes for half to one-third (if you buy it with a rebate) [...].

Summary: Overpriced and overhyped mediocrity...
Review: After reading all this back-and-forth between pro- and anti-Bose reviewers on Amazon, I decided to go ahead and order both this Bose and the Logitech Z-2300 to compare them head to head.

Result? It wasn't even close. The Logitech effortlessly DEMOLISHED the Bose in every relevant accoustic department: accurate bass, deep bass, full midrange, defined but not harsh treble, low distortion at near-maximum volume...it was no contest!

And the kicker is, the Bose is over twice the price! Needless to say I sent that hunka junk straight back where it came from.

Looking at Eduardo's review history and James Bond Israel's review history, it is obvious that JBI is a Bose employee, or depends on selling Bose products to put food on his table. I hope he can sleep at night...

Summary: Bose quality for your computer
Review: The first thing you notice about these speakers is how elegant they look. The speakers take up virtually no space plus the bass unit is super efficient for its size. The hockey puck is not only cool but functional. My old speakers didn't have a jack on the the control pad and required an awkward trip to the back of my computer. Bottom line, great sound from small cool speakers.

Review: This piece of equipment is LOVELY. I own these tiny speakers and I have a top of the line 2.1 system to compare them to. The speakers are COMPLETELY 5 stars. Lifelike, clear, bassy, spacious sound. The only con may be price, Id be happier if they were $200, but no other 2.1, or even 5.1 system rivals the sound quality of these. The bass is pretty amazing too, NO DISTORTION at all, and it is boomy and punchy, while keeping the bass clean and making it sound as quality bass. You wont even have to turn the bass knob up to the max. Anyway I compared these to my Klipsch 2.1. The Bose sounds more lifelike and spacious, and the bass is better/cleaner. The Klipsch 2.1 go louder, but the bass stays behind because you have to turn it down unless you want to hear distorsion. Also the looks of this system are TOTALLY unbeaten. Definitely top notch sound quality. PERFECT for music, GREAT for games and movies, only because they lack the rear channels, but they do a pretty nice job at surround effects considering they are so tiny. You can get a Companion 2 for $100 to complete the rear channel and have a full surround ound experience. By the way, I am naming here a brand that kills all others in computer speakers, Klipsch. They are better than Logitech, Creative and anything else you want to list. If a Bose Companion sounds better than a Klipsch, that means they are the best computer speakers. This system has a lovely control pod, which you tap to mute or unmute the system, and it has a rubber knob that you turn clockwise to increase volume, or counter clock wise to decrease it. You can also add an extra source apart from your computer through the control knob, such as an Ipod, and you can connect headphones to it too. If you want you can also attack the setellites to you monitor to make everything look VERY classy. Also if you place the bass module in a corner, you will increase bass by a lot more than the system does on its own. Look at the pictures I uploaded as "user pics" to notice how great these look.

Now, to silence those who claim they are "real audiophiles" such as Eduardo, here is my usual post on Bose:

DO NOT listen to the ones who claim they are real audiophiles. As you can see the reviews aren't directed to this product, meaning they haven't even tested these out. They say Bose is based on 1960 technologies and use cheap materials, but then tell me why people who have owned Bose speakers for over 25 years still have them and work like new? Tell me also why my 3 year old Bose Mediamates, my over 1 year old Bose Quietcomfort headphones, my less than 3 months old Bose Wave Music System, my less than 8 months old Bose Freestyle and Bose Companion 3, all sound like new and perform like new, even after I've pushed them way further than what they are meant to do with my A/V receiver? Also tell me if they use "cheap untreated paper" for their drivers, why did I look inside my Bose Freestyle's speaker and found an almost plastic material on the drivers? And if their sound is sooo old from the 60s, why does it sound so rich, full, clear, crisp, lifelike and bassy? Also, why dont Bose speakers Distort?! Because Bose is top notch in sound. Even the Wave Music System, which you'd see and think it is some stupid radio, makes bass to the level a 6 inch subwoofer would, and it only has 2 full range drivers. Imagine what all other Bose products do!
