Summary: Great sound and great looks!
Review: Amazing sound from such a small package!

I bought these because of the excellent sound they produce, even though the bass response is not thumping. And because they can be powered by 4 AAA batteries or by AC power - most other portable speakers that I could find could not be AC-powered. And the batteries last for a couple of days of lengthy sessions.

Easy to carry around - they fold up neatly and come with a handy black velvet soft carry case. They are not well-balanced when in use - they fall over rather easily. But that's the only negative that I can find with them.

Most of my friends are surprised by the quality of the sound - we've used the speakers plus my iRiver 350 CD player at picnics and BBQs with 6-8 people - as background music providers, they were great.

I have not regretted buying them for a minute, even though they are more expensive than many others around. Creative gear is generally good gear, and these are no exception to that generalisation. You won't be disappointed.

Review: Creative products seem to be hit-or-miss. I've owned many of their speakers and other electronic items -- some of them have been spectacular and others have been mediocre. This one-speaker system is their best product, IMHO. One correction to the review above: the speaker uses 4 AAA (not AA) batteries. It makes a difference -- this speaker is so compact and light!

Summary: HUGE sound out of such a small system!
Review: First of all, as you know, these speakers are from Creative (my FAVORITE pc accesory maker.)

PRO'S
Small.
Sturdy rugged design.
Reputable company.
Battery or DC outlet powered!
They sound just as good as a LARGE mid-range home stereo!!!
Sleek and high-tech looking.
Comes with a carrying case!!!

CON'S
Doesn't come with a DC wall adaptor!!! Thats not good!
When standing up, NOT very sturdy. It falls over easily.

This thing is DEFINITLY worth it!!! THe bottom line is, is that it sounds AMAZING!!! It really really does!

Review: I bought this little toy to go with a Creative Jukebox ZEN, with the idea that I'd bring it with me on vacations and to places where I'd have no way of playing music on speakers larger than headphones. In this, these speakers have paid off handsomely, although I am still cautious about handling them (they're so small I'm afraid I'll break them, but they do put out a lot of sound!). I still remain surprised how high-quality the sound from these speakers is, although if the volume on the source is set too high or has too much noise the playback gets a bit distorted and crunchy-sounding.

All in all a great buy for the person who needs his/her music to go with!

Summary: Nice but a little lacking
Review: I waited for quite awhile to pull the trigger on these because I believed that anything this size--no matter how well done-- would have limitations. I eventually bought them because they have little competition (one Sony product), I was curious, and I really needed travel speakers for my IRIVER IHP-120. The good news is that they are a noble effort in such a small package; the bad news is (with all respect to the other reviewers) they don't quite cut it if you're thinking that you can get "big" sound out of the small package. I can't quite agree that they provide "room filling" sound (and maybe expecting that is unfair). As a result, I think they'd be better priced at about $50 too.

I've spent a considerable amount of time listening to these with all different types of music and am impressed by the speakers mid and mid-high range---very clean on vocals and acoustic instruments, provided the overall sound isn't too dense. If you're into that type of music, and do not need serious volume, I think you'll like them quite a bit. Acoustic jazz also shows these little speakers to good advantage.

With a more "dense" sound, however, they become "good for their size," but IMO not as good as one might wish--even for the small size. Don't get me wrong--I will not be returning them, but I think if you listen to serious rock, funk or hip hop, their inherent size limitation *do* matter and some disortion may result at high volumes. While I respect the engineering involved and am trying to allow for their diminutive size, I think, all things being equal, Creative would not have compromised their portability and could have added to their sound by making them only slightly larger, charging a bit more, and trying for a fuller sound. As they exist, they are a very neat, compact design that I'd recommend for casual, personal listening given the lack of competition--just don't expect *too* much at higher volumes depending on your taste in music.

Summary: Creative Labs Travelsound Speaker
Review: These speakers are what you want if you have the Creative Nomad Jukebox Mp3 ipod player. They also work on portable cd,cassette players,mp3 players and radios. The sound is pretty good on these speakers and there small size is a plus over hooking up your ipod to computer speakers. You can set these anywhere and there is no wires except for the little jack you hook into your product. You can even fold these speakers to set up.I haven't had any problems with mine falling over yet. These speakers even have an enhanced sound switch. If you cut it on you can get sound that make the speakers sound like there detached for better sound. If the switch is the other way you get regular sound. This product is better than always listening only in earplugs or hooking up bulkey speakers to your ipod. You can even take your ipod and speakers in your car and you won't have to use a Fm transmitter or cassette adapter you can just put them on your car seat there so small.Batterys are suppose to last 35 hrs on this thing.I just bought mine so I can't say for sure but they are triple a not double a batteries. This even comes with a protective case to put your speakers in.Also this has a line in jack feature and also a headphone jack.It doesn't say it but if you hook it up to the headphone jack you can cut the volume up on the ipod to get louder sound thru the speakers.Since my Creative Nomad Jukebox ipod has no line in jack I have to hook it up to the headphone. The headphone works fine if your player has no line in and you can get even louder sound by cutting your device up.You can still cut the speaker volume up when the headphone jack is hooked up and cut your devices volume up to and you get even louder sound.

Here is some pros and cons of this product

Pros
Rich room filling sound.I used this in my kitchen. The sound is better on some computer speakers but you don't have the wires and space problems with these speakers and the sound is pretty good especially if you have the sound switch turned on.

Portable You can take this with you anywhere you go even in your car.The speakers are so small you can sit them on your car seat.Perfect if you have an ipod.

You can fold these so they set up anywhere.

Long battery life on 4AAA's and A/C adaptable.

Comes Complete with batterys, wire to hook it up to device and protective case.

A headphone jack is included if your device doesn't have a line out jack.

Cons

This doesn't come with the a/c universal adapter you have to order it from creative.com

This is the answer to people who have the creative nomad jukebox. The apple ipod has it's version and now the nomad has it's version.

Review: This speaker is fantastic! I bought it to take with me on my tour of Europe (along with my MP3 player) and it was as invaluable as my passport. The Travelsound is tiny (a little bigger than the palm of my hand) and produces wonderful clarity. Also, with four AA batteries, it lasted for days and days without fail (not quite 35 hours as promised by Creative, but almost). Since I've been back, I've plugged it in and used it instead of the internal speakers on my IBM Thinkpad -- big improvement. I've heard other one-speaker systems (including Sony) and this is by far the best I know of in terms of bang-for-the-buck and sound-to-size-ratio.
