Summary: Smooth operation
Review: I've run this video card with a Celeron processor & it runs flawlessly. No problems with FIFA 99, Descent, etc. Highly recommend it.

Summary: Best mainstream PCI graphics card available for GAMES
Review: If you are looking for an incredible first-person shooter experience (if you can run those well, any other games will follow), this is the card. With a K6-2 350/128MB, and this card, I got about 25-35 fps in Half-Life. After installing WickedGL (free at wickedGL.com) I got 75 fps @ 800x600 resolution!

It also runs flawlessly on my Athlon 550, around 60 fps with WickedGL @1024x768! Of course, this is an interim card, til the AGP Voodoo5 ships.

Summary: A great product
Review: If you're like me, and you STILL don't have a computer with AGP support, then there's only one option: the Voodoo III 3000 PCI! This card is AMAZING. Installation and setup is a snap, and the built in configuration software is quick, powerful, and detailed.

I threw a whole slew of old and new games at the Voodoo III, and there's nothing it couldn't handle, even in 1024X768 mode. Check it out, PCI-constrained fellowmen!

One problem: this card runs HOT, and I know it because I burned my finger on it while fiddling around in the computer case after just turning the system off. I strongly recommend buying a fan to blow directly on this card, or else your system will frequently lock up from overheatings. That is, if your computer isn't already adequately supplied with cooling.

Game on!

Summary: Short life expendancy
Review: It was easy to install and worked really well for the first 6 months. Then unexpectedly my computer's graphics output stopped. So I took it into a shop to see what was the problem. They said the graphic card was bad and needed to be replaced. Well, $166.70 dollars later my computer was up and running with a new card in it. All I have gotten out if this experience is an obsolete graphics card, which can be replaced/repaired but still out of pocket for two new card expense.

Summary: Best card to buy if you don't have an AGP slot
Review: My compaq presario does not support AGP compatible video cards. I made a mistake in buying a Diamond Viper which was AGP. I was then recommended the Voodoo3 3000 PCI graphics card. This card will do a great job with your current games and also future ones to. I compared the graphics of Unreal Tournament in my computer to the one in my friends computer who owns a GeForce. The graphics looked identical with the exception that the GeForce can output a color depth of 32 bits while the Voodoo can do 16. Overall, if you don't have an AGP slot the Voodoo3 3000 PCI card is the right card to get.

Summary: Blown Away!
Review: Not being able to run my newest game (Earth 2150) I decided to buy a video card. After learning my computer only had PCI slots and no AGP, my choices were limited (as far as "decent" graphic accelerators) as I'm sure you know by now.

Upon consulting with my nephew (who is an expert on games and graphics) he recommend the voodoo card.

The installation on my Gateway G6 200 was a piece of cake (remove the old 4meg card that came with the computer, plug the new one in and install the driver).

I was off and running Earth 2150 at lightning speed. I also noticed an improvement in my computer's speed in general (maybe because the graphics chip takes some of the workload off of the pentium I honestly don't know).

I am a tough reviewer and giving this a 5 star was the only way to go. If all you have is PCI slots buy the biggest card you can afford from 3dfx.

Summary: VERY GOOD BUY
Review: ok, first, lemme give you some specs, i run a 200mhz, 64 mgs ram, 15" moniter, compaq computer this is a very good card, and well worth the money if you can find it for less than $165, this is the best of my three video cards (3dfx voodoo w/dongle psthr, s3 w/ powervr, v3:3k) it supports insanely high resolutions, speeds by other video cards when it comes to frame rates, and much more, it comes with a mini gl port/driver thingy, and allowed me with my crappy computer to run half life at 1280x960 at an average of 45 fps, at some clean points, i got 73 fps at this resolution!

Summary: Well, we could do better...
Review: Ok, sorry kids, but for the price, why not get the Riva chipset? In my experiences, it is faster and more reliable than the Voodoo chips. Or, you could wait until the price of the GeForce comes down a bit. That is a very good chipset, at least according to my friends and every review I've read. I can't wait to get my hands on one, honestly. Come now, 16 megs of onboard RAM? That's it, on this brand-new top-of-the-line board? My Viper V770 came with 32 megs, and that was almost a year ago. The new GeForce cards have 32 megs as well, so where is that other 16 megs that the Voodoo is missing? The only advantage to the Voodoo card is that it has 3dfx capability, and that's not that big of an advantage if you know anything about 3d accelerators. Nope, that money would be better spent elsewhere...

Summary: Overall Great Card
Review: Rather than just say that this is really an amazing card, which it truly is, I thought I'd give you some solid stats other than those provided by the company. I'm running this card on a Pentium 2 400MHz, with 64 megs SDRAM and a 15" Sony Trinitron monitor (.25dp). There isn't enough room write the full results, but basically it worked out like this (the tests were with Unreal Tournament demo): even at 1280x1024 and 16 bit resolution, the card was pulling an average of 30 FPS. The refresh at this res was reduced, but not severely. At 512x384x16, I got 44 FPS, but the graphics were too pixelated at such a low res that it wasn't worth it. The best of both worlds seems to be 1024x768x16, which consistently pulls off just short of 40 FPS on average.

The last word is that if you don't have an AGP slot, this is the card to go with. It performs great and if you can do without TV-out, it's about perfect.
