Summary: A great card for the price
Review: I bought this card about a year ago to replace my old Voodoo 3 card and have had 0 (ZERO) problems with it. I have over 200 games and play about 50 of them on a regular basis: Max Payne, Independence War 2, Soldier of Fortune, Blood, Red Faction, Freespace 2, Starlancer, X-Wing Alliance and a bunch of old DOS games with NO PROBLEMS AT ALL on my Win98 SE machine using the VisionTek card. I think people having problems should download the driver upgrade, maybe that will help.

Why not 5 stars? I would like better performance from the card in terms of frame rates, but that is why I am getting a Geoforce 3 card. But c'mon, for the price you really can't do much better than this.

Summary: Amazing performance at a low cost!!
Review: I found this card on sale for about 100$ give or take a few, I bought it because I needed a new card and this one caught my attention. Installation was easy, i ran into no trouble and once it was installed, WOW! the performance boost in games was great, Max Payne now looks excellent and also 2d images and animations are a bit sharper, for the price, i consider it a really good deal. Why am I giving it four stars? Because the card has no included software bundle, not even a game demo;the cd has only the nvidia technology demos, but overall it is a really great card

Summary: This card has BIG problems!
Review: I got this card and it does not work with MechCommander2 or MechWarrior4! I also get problems with Max Payne and STVoy:Elite Force! I got the latest drivers and it still crashes! The FMV had a bunch of high pitched beeps when playing. Don't buy this card if you intend to play a lot of games.

Summary: Has some problems
Review: I recently purchased this card as a replacement for a Diamond Viper 550. The installation went smoothly, and I was able to download a more recent device driver off the internet.

However, this card still does not fully support DirectX 8, and also does not fully support Mechwarrior 4, which is my current game of choice. The readme file for mw4 states that you will experience periodic crashes using the geforce 2 card, and it speaks the truth. In addition, I can reliably shut my machine down just running one of the Direct 3D demo applictions--something that used to run fine when I had the Diamond Viper card installed.

Because the most recent NVIDIA driver claims to fully support DirectX 8, and because there is a Geforce 3 already on the market, I doubt this will ever get fixed.

As for performance, I did not experience any performance improvment when switching from the Viper to the Geforce 2, even though the Viper is 3 years old, has only 16 meg of ram, and is an AGP version 1 card. This is another reason why I plan to get my money back for the Geforce 2 and go with something else.

Summary: So far so good
Review: So far it has worked well. I also have a Hercules 3D Prophet 3, which is still the best GeForce 3 card on the market. This GeForce 2 doesn't perform like the GeForce 3, but it works just fine for every game I've played with it. Good card for the money.

Summary: Is this waht we have to deal with now that 3Dfx is out?
Review: Take a (...)bill, a ligted match, put them together and stand well back. This would cause you less wasted time and stress then to use your (...)bill for the purchase of this card. Installation was easy but configuring the system to work with the darn thing is another story. Fiddling with IRQ#'s and messing around with BIOS and Mother Board Drivers and my 3Dfx Voodoo3 PCI still works better, even with a fourth of the video memory compared to the GeForces 64MB. The card will NOT run Black & White, one of my favorite games. But hey if you like Distorted shadow and fog effects, choppy cinemas, magical disapearing menus, and to be able to have your computer shut down for you as if to tell you you've played enought today, then this card is for you! have at it.
