Summary: A waste of money.
Review: I just bought one of these cards for my parents so I could upgrade their computer. I knew ATI cards where the primary video decive that the Windows Operating Systems were made on so I figured they would be the most compatible. HAH! I guesed wrong! After installing everything on the "easy installation CD" I restarted and then saw that the drivers haden't even been installed! I looked for the drivers on the CD. None. They reccomended on their website that you dont use the CD and download drivers from their achive. After being lost in the achive I finnaly found the drivers. Installed them and it worked. I tryed Quake III Arena on their 600mhz PIII and it was slower than HECK! I tore it out and returned it immediatly! My parents now have an outstanding TnT 2 Ultra made by the great nVidia. DO Not buy this card.

Summary: great for singular but not for secondary
Review: I ordered this card to use as a secondary video card under win 98. Apparantly even though Microsoft suggests ATI cards for use in dual monitor configurations, i failed to get this card to work consistantly as a secondary card. I did have it working for about a week, after messing with it for 2 hours trying assorted configurations. Then when i rebooted today, it quit again, and locks the machine at boot. I hear that this card will work in a secondary configuration under Win 2000 without any problems, and it did work nicely when i set it up as a primary card to run tests to make sure it wasn't a defective card.

As for my background, I've been assembling systems since 286's, and i'm 1 year from completing a bachelors degree in computer engineering from The University of Michigan. I'm also HP Service Authorized for Kayak, Vectra, and Brio PC's, and i repair PC's for the university.

Summary: Excellent Upgrade, Nice price
Review: I purchased this as an inexpensive upgrade to the existing video card in my 5 year old Pentium II system. It was easy to install (just swapped cards and installed the drivers).

The performance has been as good as expected. I have had some problems with a couple of games, but new drivers fixed those problems.

Overall, an excellent upgrade for the price. If you have an older PII or Pentium I system, this is an excellent choice.

Summary: ATI Tech Support Problems
Review: I purchased this card back in December. It is now February and 3 e-mails later to ATI's tech support I am no closer to getting this card to work than I was back in December. Their tech support could be better if they didn't ignore my descriptions of the problem. My problem was trying to get their drivers to work with the PCI version of this card. It took an average of about 2 weeks to get an e-mail response from their tech support and each time they included help with references to the AGP version of the card. Rather than addressing the problems I was describing, they kept on sending back canned e-mail responses, mostly describing help information that they already provide on their web site. If you visit their tech support web site, you will find many other known problems. I would recommend reading through any product's tech support area before purchasing an item so you will know what you are getting yourself into.

I am no novice at installing PC hardware. I have been building my own PC's from mail-order parts since the days of the XT (Intel 8086 - 4 Mhz). I used the ATI Wonder card way back when and that one worked great, but this one has changed my mind about ATI products and support.

At this point I have given up and have purchased the 3dfx Voodoo3 3000 PCI card and it installed in a matter of minutes. No driver problems, no hassles. Now I have to find a way to return the ATI card now that I am past the traditional 30 day return policy.

Summary: This is a Great Second Video Card
Review: It installed very easily under WIN2k. There is many ways to tweak this video card also. But there you have to make sure that you have enought memory onboard and power to PCI slot before you install the video card other wise you will recieve problems. Cheap and Affortable if you want a second video card. I would sujest getting a Voodoo 5 if you want power for games. It is more expensive but with later technology. Especially if you have between 300 - 450 mhz computer, with 64 - 128 meg's of Ram. But it works great I have yet to test the DVD decoding on it.. But I will write on that asap or when I recieve a DVD drive.

Summary: Not Bad
Review: Pluged it into a PCI slot, connected a monitor, and started my monitor array without a problem. Dell 866 mhz Dimension 4100. Graphics and complex Flash presentations work very well on the card and dragging them between monitors is a seemless experience. Any of the ATI Rage 128 cards should work in this capacity.

Summary: ATI Tech Support Problems
Review: The installation of this card was a breez once I got a set of working drivers. The CD that came with my card was unreadable in the 2 CDrom drives in my computer. When I contacted ATI via Email about the problem they said download the drivers, and that they didn't want to give me a new CD! I found this appaling for what would they have done if I was a customer without net access? Great card just their customer support is a little iffy in my mind.
