Summary: Greased Lightning! RAID 0+1 WORKS!!!
Review: FAST is the word! This is precisely what I wanted. I needed to secure data on a 'server' that was also being used as a main computer system. I did not want it slowed down AND I wanted to secure my data.

After reading extensively on the internet, I decided on this card and using acceleration as well as disk mirroring. RAID 0+1

It works!

However, beware : you need to make sure your bios is up to date and the latest drivers are installed.
This necessitated downloading updated bios and upgrading.

The actual software set up and configuration was easy.

Satisfied and pleased!

Summary: Truly Fast, but beware of compatibility and tech support
Review: I purchased the Fasttrak TX2000 to improve the capture rate of analog video. I'm using it to stripe two 7200RPM Ultra drives. Now that I have it running, it has exceeded my expectations nearly tripling my capture rate. However, installation was painful. It is known to be incompatible with some chipsets (I have the 815E but the 845 is a known problem) when using an nVidia graphics card. I absolutely could not get both my nVidia GeForce card and the Fasttrak to work together. It is also known not to work with the ATI All-in-Wonder, thought I ended up using the Radeon. Be sure to check your chipset, graphics card, and info on the Promise web site before buying this card. And don't expect any tech support - I submit 6 emails and called them twice. I never got a response, nor was the phone answered. I give this card 5 stars for performance (with a compatible graphics card) but 0 stars for lack of support.

Summary: Exactly what I was looking for...
Review: I was looking for a way to protect my PC's data when the inevitable hard drive crash comes. And this was the perfect solution for me. I didn't know anything about mirroring a week ago, so I asked a question about it in a newsgroup. Someone suggested getting a RAID card. A little reserach turned up this one. It was easy to install, and relatively easy for a non-techie like myself to configure with my particular PC. I called Promise Technology's telephone support twice during installation and their response was outstanding. Very helpful and right on target. Highly recommend!

Summary: Bad linux drivers support.
Review: Work's well in my Windows 2000, doesn't work with Linux 2.6 kernels.
Don't buy it if you plan to use it in Linux.
