Summary: You get what you pay for
Review: I actually bought this in a store because it was cute, lightweight and the price was right for my daughter's room. Big mistake. The sound was never good. Within a month the tape player just stopped working. Then, just as abruptly, the cd lid wouldn't close anymore. Now I have to tape it shut with duct tape just to play a cd. And the people at Memorex couldn't care less.

Summary: Don't buy this Boombox
Review: I brought this radio because it is small and I wanted to use it at work to listen to the radio or my tapes. Needless to say that the door for the radio broke off within a couple of days and the CD player just wouldn't work. I sent it back and got another one but the CD player didn't work on that one either. If I could have given this radio zero stars I would have! Whatever you do, do not buy this boombox.

Summary: Back for seconds..
Review: I purchased one of these for our 11 year old's birthday, now I'm back for one for dad! This little player has seen it's share of use--from the none-too-gentle handling that our pre-teen dishes out to taking back and forth to use for musical rehearsals, the durability has been a big plus! The CD features have been a real asset at rehearsals, and it sounds GREAT. Once I figured out how to turn the darn thing ON and OFF (a little tricky..), I haven't had any trouble with it. Contrary to the review that has trouble with reception, we're out in the woods and get our favorite stations just fine!

Summary: Wonderful audio value for my Daughter!
Review: I purchased the Memorex MP 3131 as Christmas present for my daughter. The unit sounds clear as a bell and the digital tuner picks up all the radio stations from the city 26 miles away! I am pleased with the shape and size of the MP 3131; It's smaller than most of the other units in the price range and doesn't resemble a slug. The angled speakers enhance the stereo separation adding to the listening enjoyment. I can't wait till Christmas... so I can tinker with it again!

Summary: Memorex boombox poor station reception in Rhode Island
Review: I purchased this boom box recently and I am very disappointed with the station reception. I can get only 2 or 3 stations and the most powerful one takes over the broadcast and overcomes the rest, I cannot receive my favourite station in Boston, 99.1.

Summary: AVOID THIS PIECE OF JUNK!
Review: IT STINKS! I had mine for about a year. Yesterday, it ate a tape, so the tape player and the tape are ruined.

Even before the tape eating incident, it seems flimsy. If I open a drawer of the dresser it sits on while I am playing a CD, the CD skips, and I have to turn off and turn on the player.

Why did I buy this? Because it was cheap.... I should have consulted Consumer Reports. At least I bought my other gadgets (computer, scanner, printer, digital camera, TV, and VCR) with more thought instead of impulse.
