Summary: OK, my CD player finally broke too - But after 4 years
Review: After 4 years of daily use, the CD player broke, while all the other features still work perfectly. This is a sad day indeed. There I was about to listen to a CD to help me go to sleep and the CD player went whir, scratch, whir, scratch...whir...whir...whir...waaaaa

So, I guess the CD player doesn't last as long as the radio and cassette recorder and I'm back to say that I hope they fix this problem in future models because I really like Philips products.

Would I still buy Philips products? Sure, for the price I feel I got my money's worth out of this CD Player.

If you buy a used one, I'd say that the CD player might have a very short life.

I'm lowering my rating to a 3 star because I really thought
the CD player would last longer than it did.

Summary: Great product!!!
Review: I purchased this boombox about three months ago, for use in my office. The sound quality is great. Both CD and tape playback are excellent. The size is perfect. Actually, I would like it even a bit smaller if possible, but smaller size boomboxes are not easy to find. So, for placement on a desk at work, this model is perfect.
Based on the sound quality, I have no doubts that this item could be used in one's bedroom, and you would not be disappointed.
For the amount you are paying, you are getting a great deal of value in this item. I strongly recommend it.

Summary: Bedside entertainment center :)
Review: If you love listening to motivational tapes, want to switch to listening to Talk Radio, and then relax with a CD, then this is the baby "boombox" for you. With a remote control, what more could you ask for. I found this to be very reasonable, it makes you almost want to buy two. My husband steals mine to take with him when he does Open Houses in Real Estate, so I just might have to get him one for his birthday :) I need my entertainment while working on my computer. Yes, I need to get better speakers for my laptop...I know!

Summary: Nice little boombox
Review: Looks cool, good sound, although not as loud as I had hoped. Remote works good. Only bad thing is the display is not very readable (too dark).

Summary: broke after 13 months
Review: The cd player broke after 13 months of very light use. This is the second Philips product I've owned that has failed prematurely.

Summary: Great Sound -- But 1 MAJOR Problem!!!!!
Review: This is a really great boombox -- if what you're looking for is great CD sound. Good solid deep bass. Nice styling too. But there is one major problem and 2 minor ones. The major problem is that the circuitry inside the boombox lets you hear radio interference "bleed through" when you're listening to the quiet bits of music on cassettes!! So, in my case, I might be listening to a motivational tape, or a meditation tape, and during the quiet moments I frequently here the local "oldies" radio station coming through the speakers. A techie friend says that it's a shielding problem. Whatever, it is... it's really annoying!!!! So, if you need to focus and concentrate while listening to cassettes.... find another boombox. This one is NOT for you. On the other hand, if you can ignore the radio bleed through... go for it. And it's certainly NOT a problem if you're listening to loud rock music on cassette. The volume of your music will undoubtedly mask the less obvious radio bleed through. OK... the other 2 minor problems. The remote doesn't control the cassette player. And the LED is so dimly lit (I mean REALLY dimly lit!!!) that it's frequently difficult to read.
