Summary: great little radio for work
Review: A wonderful cute radio for work especially for all of us who have to fit a lot in a tiny cubicle. The CD player worked great and the cassette player was more than adequate for the price. Although I had no problems on the AM spectrum, the upper end 102.1+ end of the FM spectrum, did appear to have some reception difficulties.

Summary: Great boombox, great value, not for portable use!
Review: For a present, I recently got an RCA RP7968 Boombox. Its really great! The RCA has large, easy to use, readable buttons. It plays CD's and cassettes with ease, and it also is very stylish(not as much as some Sony's and Aiwa's, though). Although, there are few downsides. First off, it really is not for portable use. It eats away battery's in no time. In addition, it is pretty heavy for a boombox. I still do reccomment this RCA boombox...as I said in my title it has a great value and great quality, but if you spend a few bucks more, you might be able to find a better one for your needs.

Summary: Not the usual RCA quality
Review: I am quite disappointed with this stereo, considering most all of my other RCA products have performed well. The sound is OK, but the radio tuner allows the stations to "fade", requiring constant retuning. The CD player turntable spins, but will no longer read any CD at all. The ac cord connection is a sloppy fit, allowing the power to disconnect at will. Save your money, buy something else.....this unit appears to suffer from poor build quality throughout.

Summary: Overpriced, shoddy sound, flimsy
Review: I bought this for my job so I could listen to music while I worked in the warehouse. 3 (three) weeks after I bought it the tape player broke. No problem, I'll just listen to cds, right? Well, that worked for a couple of months. Now it will only play a cd that I *just* opened. After that one play, it skips like it's an old cd. This boom box is not worth [the money]. The sound is tinny in the high range and anything remotely resembling bass makes the speakers make armpit noises. I was not expecting concert-like digital audio type sound, but something better than am radio. As you can tell I wouldn't recommend this one. Go to a store and try one out, and SAVE YOUR RECEIPT! A lesson hard learned.

Summary: Ok...but you can probably do better if you try!
Review: I have had this boombox for a little over a year...at first I thought it was awful! After playing two or three cd's acceptably, it would begin to skip uncontrollably! Then I thought I would use a laser lens cleaner and it worked well for about another ten cd's. With regular lens cleaning it is acceptable.

The sound is not fantastic. It is overwhelmed by any musical flourishes the artist you listen to may care to indulge in! The speakers cannot handle loud sounds...Before you think I am punishing this poor stereo with heavy metal...It becomes screechy with Andrea Bocelli or The Moody Blues!

The radio on mine is quite good. The cassette player/recorder is nice as well. I would have liked a microphone; but I have no complaints in this area.

If you have the opportunity to shop around...buy a slightly better portable stereo. They abound. I did not get around to
returning it while I still had the chance; so I have learned to "work with the cd issues"! Really it is not awful...but it is not very good. Shop around!

Summary: Not a great boombox at any price
Review: I received this as a Christmas gift and was excited to finally have a CD player that was easily accessable while I worked in the kitchen. The idea was to have something nice, but small. It is small. The sound on mine is horrible! I hardly ever use it because of the speaker quality. Spend a little more. There is nothing worse than listening to your favorite classical piece on speakers that distort the sound! Almost as bad as finernails on a chalk board. . .

Summary: I love it! Perfect for my needs!
Review: I wanted a CD player/radio for work, and this was perfect for the price! The radio was fine (opposed to what the other review here states), I couldn't necesarily get every station, but the stations that came in were clear. The CD portion works great too! I am happy and I would highly recommend to someone.
