Summary: integrated in form and function . . .
Review: . . . it's as entertaining to look at as it is to play! I bought one for a friend, but my sister likes it so much that she's going to get one of her own, too. While I don't know about "surround sound", the sound quality is about what you can expect for the price.

And what a great price! I like this one more than an ugly long thing I got in 92 for more than double this price.

Summary: Lots of fun to look at....
Review: and has good delivery except could use a little bass boost...sounds good if not too loud. Overall, is fun to look at and has pretty good sound...cassette player and radio work well. Nice antenna that hides in machine. Can turn off speaker lights which is good when I take it to work. Can't beat the price either..out performs my daughter's old "boom" box. 4 Stars only because sound could be a little better.

Summary: Neat, but not quite cool.
Review: Greatly serves the purpose of portable music. Won't wow the audiophile, or even the pretender, but does very nice job in my 28x32 garage, thank you.

My wife borrowed it so often I've just ordered her one of her own!!

Summary: MY OFFICE HAS NEVER BEEN THE SAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: I just received my new Aiwa CSD-MR1 Stereo, CD and Cassette Recorder and I could not be happier. The sound is outstanding; crystal clear with great definition and seperation. It's hard to get any work done around this office. I highly recommend this stereo. Great value, top quality and Amazon did a fine job delivering the product. It arrived in just a few days!!!!!! I am very pleased. By the way, the CD sounds great. I haven't tried the cassette player as of yet, but I'm sure it's just fine. FM stereo is totally awesome!!!!!! The speakers light up when you have it plugged in, but not while using the batteries. Get One.........you'll be stoked. NO, I don't work for Aiwa!!!!!!!!!

Summary: Cool design and good quality but not great sound
Review: I liked the surround sound idea but the sound quality did not live up to my expectations. It needs to have more bass and a graphic equalizer that can provide better mid-range control.

Construction quality appeared to be excellent.

Summary: A great, fun portable music box!
Review: The Aiwa offers terrific features and sound at a very reasonable price. This funky little unit looks like it will start hovering in space any minute especially when the speaker lights are on. We've been having a lot of fun with it. As some other reviews have noted, the bass is a bit on the light side but is hardly a problem and I would hate to see people miss out on a really fine piece of equipment for such a reasonable price. The CD player is superb; for that matter all the features met and, in some cases, exceeded our expectations. Try it - you'll like it - or at least will have some fun with it.

Summary: well....
Review: the look is great the style is neat, and the idea precedes all others. but to be honest the sound quality is moderate-poor. I was expecting big with the 6 speaker 'surround' sound but was disappointed with it. The sound was leaving something desired. hey but the lights on it were COOL!!!
