Summary: Great intermediate level recorder for students
Review: I bought this recorder a couple of weeks ago for class lectures at a University. I have been extremely happy with the quality of the product...It comes with an external mic that you can clip to your shirt, or sit on a desk so you can be conspicuous in your recordings. I chose this one over digital ones because I needed to record for long periods of time, and the digital ones seemed to only do that in poor quality modes. I can pick up the Professor's voice crisply and clearly, even on the slow mode. And the VOR option only records when someone is talking...

Review: I had a digital voice recorder....now I have a Sony microcassette recorder. The Sony is 10 times better. Easy to use, wonderful sound on playback. Excellent value.

Summary: Sooo much better than digital.
Review: I was recently disappointed with digital recorders. If anyone read my review on the Olympus VN1800, you'd know what I'm talking about. So I tried out micro cassette. And I am highly impressed. Sony has many types of what seems to be the same micro cassette recorder. Each different model seems to come with something different, but looking the same.
I have a sneaking suspicion that they just add a few things and tack on a price. I bought the m-657V model, but the actual recorder says M-650V. I called Sony about this and they said it was one in the same. You just get more accessories. Anyways, it's a great recorder. Comes with an external mic, a cassette, carry bag, and batteries. I tried it out. Audio works super. What I expected it to be. The counter on the front is very handy. Cue and Review work great and even has fast play back. Pause function works great. Another super thing about this is the voice mirror. The REC light will flash faster or slower depending on how much sound it is picking up. With this you can tell if you're getting a good recording or not. It has a battery warning light. It also has automatic voice recording feature. The automatic voice recording works with high or low mic levels. You can set high or low setting for recording quality. Each one works good. I don't have to sacrifice quality too much to get a longer recording. Get those 90 minute tapes and you can get 90 minutes of high quality. They are inexpensive. I am highly impressed by this product and hope to use it much in the future. A good buy.

Summary: Just prefect!
Review: I'm at a loss for words. I was aiming for a digital voice recorder, but after checking a few price tags and reading the reviews for this one, I decided to go analog. These are my two cents: Amazing. I use it mainly for classroom lectures (I find that going through the parts of the lecture I was asleep through *does* help :). I sit at the very back of the classroom (room that fits about 50 people) and I don't use the external mic. I just press the record button and leave the recorder next to me. I use the so-called _low quality_ setting (slow tape) to extend the recording time on my tapes, and this recorder picks up the sound of the chalk on the board as clear as day! Highly recommended.

Review: WOW! WEE! ........ this is a great recorder what ells can i say..it comes with batteries the recorder tape and a carrying bag...it has SUPER SOUND RECORDING and i mean it ...it has a light that blinks faster or slower to tell you how much sound its recording....the recorder is inexpinsive ...i myself have tryed digital recorders and have had trouble with them....so if you are looking for a good recorder I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMEND M-657V.......i hope you buy this productso you 2 can be ~~AMAZED~~
