Review: I don't know how it works with a good connection, but at 16,800 it takes 5-10 minutes to connect and loses it often! Terrible! My old US Robotics was far superior!

Summary: Good Performance, [inexpensive] Price
Review: I needed a new modem to replace the US Robotics that died in my windows 98 machine. I bought the Zoom model 3025. It claims to have "lightning protection" which is how my old one died. Hopefully I won't have to test that functionality. I have no technical experience, but this modem was very easy to install and run. It took me less than 10 minutes to install. The connection speeds have been consistently stable and fast, it has V.92 and V.44 for increased speed, and the price was [inexpensive]. If you're going to stay with 56K instead of broadband, then this is a good deal.

Summary: Great Modem Agere 3025...L
Review: I was looking for a V92 with Modem On Hold that really worked. What I got with the 3025 was excellent speed for a dialup and MOH that worked flawlessly. I believe both the Agere 3025-00-00L and Conexant 3025-00-00C chips were used in this model. I have another machine using the Conexant chip and MOH functions are not dependable. I would definitely recommend the Agere based modem.

Review: I'd bought not 3025L, but 3025C and was very disappointed. After the modem initialization system often buzzes for 5 seconds and doesn't connect. I need try 4-5 times to receive stable connection. But when connection is stable, speed is about 50K.

Summary: Great modem and nice bonus software titles!
Review: Lightning blew out my old USR internal modem; after purchasing this, I wish it'd happened much sooner! Installation was a snap on a Win98 machine (install software FIRST - they recommend it, and it worked perfectly for me). Booted up, and it was recognized immediately, and just worked. Manuals seemed to have a reasonable bit of info on troubleshooting, which I didn't need. But the best part - with the old USR modem, I almost never (maybe 2 or 3 times out of 100) would connect at > 28,800, and often lower; with the Zoom, I connect almost every time @ 34,000 or better.Modem also came with some awfully nice freebie software on CD; AdSubtract, which gets rid of a lot of banner ads (!!) and seems to work well; and Print Shop Pro, an image processing / paint program which has a lot of great features, seems to read all common image file formats, and is said to be compatible with Adobe's PhotoShop. I've been looking for some well-featured imaging software, and to get something this nice for free is great. Running for several weeks now, and everything (installation, modem, software) has been pretty much flawless; where are those 7 stars when you need 'em.....

Review: Went in without a hitch. Still on V.90 line and performance over the previous TelePath with X2 by US Robotronic is improved. Can't go wrong for the price.
