Summary: MOST WANT TO HEAR ONLY PLESeaNT REviews BUT im HONEST
Review: I have had this mini disc player for ... oh.. 4 months. It was really great the first 2 weeks. Everyone likes its the first couple weeks. BUt, like most people say, for ... it is to big, lumbersome, and not that convienent. The dial is easily moved accidently, inorder to record a song, you have to play the entire song. UNliKE ! the sony mini disc, it is big and cant compress files. THe sony can compress files and make the mini disc hold up to 80 songs!!! while the sharp holds 15. Im not saying this isnt a good mini disc, im saying that for the price, look around to see what else you can get that is smaller, lighter, and more functtions. I mean this mp3 player is bigger and heavier than my hold cs player!

Summary: Talk about durable
Review: I have owned this unit for 2 years, and it has held up pretty well. I had heard some complaints that the slot loads tend to break, but this was never the case with the 722. The jog dial has gotten banged up, so I can't title tracks as quickly, but that is of little concern, since it still plays extremely well. I will say, though, that in the time that I have owned the 722, I have gone through two discmans, so this little puppy has been worth its price.

It's a great MD player/recorder to start with, and hopefully stick with. Just find a male-male analog cable and you're set.

Summary: worth every cent I spent
Review: Good things about this machine

-Slot loading mechanism, very convenient and sturdy. I opted for this older model just for this slot. I consider this a luxury, or liability if I don't have one.

-Jog dial is really powerful. I'm lazy to do the titling with anything besides keyboard. And it also makes it easy for the editing.

-3 levels of Bass. And the sound quality is great. The volume is adequate if you record the disk right. Actually it can blow your ears at maximum volume. I heard from my friends who use Sony's that older models from Sony's doesn't have enough volume for noisy environment.

-The unit shell is made of metal.

-The remote control looks cheap but it works and comes with EL backlight.

-The size is right for me. I did fear the unit will be big as I read so many complaints about it.

I write this review in hope that it will find its way to Sharp and tell them "The slot loading is the way to go!".

Summary: I love mine!
Review: Where to begin? Well, the first thing I might mention is that this is a great price for this unit. You will notice that the price is hugely discounted. This is because this is not one of this year's models. It is a slightly older model, though I prefer it to most of the player/recorders on the market today. Here's a breakdown of why I love it:

Editing: One of the best things about MDs is that you can edit them. You can shorten or combine tracks, you can change the order in which they play, you can name and rename the tracks, etc. This can be difficult on a small unit - imagine using buttons to scroll throught the alphabet and symbols to name your tracks. The great thing about this Sharp model is the jog-shuttle control, which allows you to blast through the alphabet to name those tracks and also allows you to easily fast-forward and "rewind" you tunes.

Sound quality: as good or better than other models I have used by Sony and Sharp. This thing records beautifully and plays back faithfully. The only drawback is that the maximum volume for playback is just shy of where it should be. This simply means that it does not play loud enough in extremely noisey places, like an airplane. Good headphones can correct that problem.

Battery: I love the long battery life of the included rechargable. I consistantly get many hours of recording time and many more of play time. I think they say it gets 8 and 10 hours respectively and I believe it.

Build: This is a well built little machine which I have dropped severaly times (not recommended). It survived so I credit the engineers. I also like the slot-loading system as opposed to the flimsy pop-up systems of other players. This feels real sturdy - even more sturdy than the slot-loading MD Blaupunkt stereo in my car. It is also a relatively quiet player/recorder. I have played with Sony models that have lots of mechanical noise that can actually be picked up by my microphones in a quiet setting and that is unacceptable!

Size: It is one of the larger models out there. Of course, being a MD player/recorder, it is still smaller than any walkman and a very reasonable size. It does not come with any means to clip it to a belt however, so you joggers might have to improvise a system or carry the little thing.

Other: The only drawback is that this unit does not have any sort of automatic volume limiting system. That means if you leave the recording levels too high and the sound clips, it will sound terrible. You just have to be careful not to set the mic level too high and in the end, if you get the level right this way, your recording will be more accurate than relying on an automatic limiting system to kick in. And I have found that at low recording levels, this unit still produces gorgeous recordings and almost no noise.

Overall I would say this is an exceptional value. It is sturdy, it has never skipped on me, and it always records and plays beautifully. Hey, the price is right too - 5 stars!

Summary: It's all good once you have the parts
Review: This product is pretty good. I got it just in time during the Christmas rush. When it finally came, i saw that i couldn't record anything without from my computer, Cd player and Boom boxes. Until later that day I saw that I had to use this old cable I had, which are only 5 bucks. The cable is for those of you who have problems with this; for anybody that uses a pair of haedphones or ear-bugs, you know the little metal that sticks out to put into the Cd player, Etc. Well the cable is like that on both ends.

Other then that one problem to get music in, it plays very well and almost never skips, with the exception of low battery. I have put it in my pants pockets and ran with it. Lots of shaking and not a skip. The slick battery is sick and only needs to be recharged about once a week, even with daily use. 30 minute walk from school and back up steep steep hills.

The remote it has is super and lets you go on lokking and feeling less clumsy. As when you put it away you just put the tiny remote and turn it off.

The headphones it comes with very good and up turned up all the way, everyone in the room can hear you.

This is a good thing to have if you are very into music. Other then that you probably wouldn't us it much anyway.

Summary: Too Big
Review: Its a great sounding, great working mini disk player, but get ready, its a big one, the largest I have seen yet. Sturdy though and works well just bigger than average.

Summary: great product
Review: I bought one of these off ebay a while back. I've had it for almost a year now and it's worked great. I don't care for the remote much I think that's a silly idea and not very useful. It's also very tough, i've dropped hard enough to get dents and it still works. It had a glitch reading an MD one time, but i haven't been able to get it to repeat. I've gotten in a wreck with this thing and it didn't even skip. The sound reproduction is.. well, what you'd expect from any minidisc player, awesome. The batteries last a long time, i've take it on long trips and never had them run out on me. I've gone weeks without recharging it. The jog dial is sooo useful.

The thing i like best about it though is the expressions on peopels' faces when they see it. It's a very novel design, very different and interesting. I've been very happy with mine.

Summary: Great player
Review: great player. only drawbacks are its size, not as small as more expensive ones, and that it doesn't have a USB link for downloading MP3s, you have to attatch it to a easy to find 2 way analog cable.plus the directions are a bit sketchy, have to just use some logic. but besides those minor faults this item is a great buy for people who enjoy listing to their own mixes. or for people who just want to show off.
