Summary: What a great MD
Review: Buying this MD was one of the smartest thing I did, for several reasons. One because it's price is really good, also it comes with a great bundle (PC link...) also it has an FM/AM radio if you get tired of listening to your recorded minidisc, also it records with great sound and with the Lp2, Lp4 and Mono mode you save battery life and you have much more time to record songs.

Summary: The best portable audio device
Review: Cant get any better than this. mp3 players are much more expensive when it comes to media. for 128 mb of media cost $... for mp3 players which is a total waste of money. You will only be able to put on 30 to 40 songs on it. Also some mp3 players have hardware problems such as the nomad players. But the mini disc players are durable and rarely have problems. This unit is ethe best because of its features. This is the only mini disc player that has a radio! Mini disc players are just as light as mp3 players and only use 1 AA batery too! A big disadvantage to mp3 players is that on 2 batteries it last about 8 hrs, but this player on 1 battery lasts up to 48 hrs and also other minidisc players could last up to even 145 hrs of battery life. Even though minidisc players cost a little more money, the media is extra cheap ([money] for 10 discs, 150 songs per disc in mp3 format on the mini disc.) overall the minidisc player is a great thing to buy than an mp3 player because they all have the same features, minidics players have no hardware problems, and of course the media is much cheaper! So buy now!!! (P.S.-sony is coming out with new minidiscs that don't just record the sound, it transfers at a 32x speed burner! It also uses the filename of the MP3 and automatically puts the title and artist in it for you! They have battery life in the 100's and weigh about 3 oz and are much thinner!)

Summary: Just shy of perfection
Review: Great MiniDisc player/recorder!! The player itself runs great. Small player packs a lot of power. battery life is great and very convienent. Recording for me works great. I even have Windows XP and have had no problems with drivers.

My only grip is with the remote. I would like to see a back lit remote. I live in Alaska and it can get pretty dark up here. However, other I bought another remote from SONY that was back lit. Other then that. this is the best SONY player/recorder to get until the NETMD players come out.

Summary: The best out there!!!
Review: I have just recently purchased this product and it is absolutely one of the best electronic investments I have ever made. It is light weight, easy to use, stylish, convenient, and has wonderful sound quality for a small minidisc player. In my opinion, this product was worth every penny! With this little device, you can record up to 4 CDs onto one minidisc! It also provides you with the Mega Bass system to enrich the sound quality. Plus it has Skip-Free G protection which is nice. The package includes a Digital PC link cable, a rechargable battery, a USB cable, an AC adapter, and a Digital Connecting cable. One of the advantages to having a portable minidisc player instead of an MP3 player, is that you can continue to make more and more MDs without having to worry obout the memory, where as with the MP3 player, you have to worry about how much memoryyou have taken up on the unit. What I like about this device, is that you can also access the radio with the small yet practical remote control and also edit. It also gives you 24 hours of playback with one Sony AA battery! Oh and did I mention that this little thing weighs only 4.2 ounces without the battery? One thing that did dissapoint me however was the fact that the LCD display on the unit as well as the LCD display on the remote control was not backlit. But overall this little life saver is an EXCEPTIONAL piece of equipment and is very reliable I might add. Hope this review was of help to you!

Summary: Sony MiniDisc - Disappointing
Review: I just returned my Sony MiniDisc player/recorder model MZ-G750DPC. I encountered the folloiwng experience/problems

1 - The FM radio reception is poor. I live in a major metroplitan area and there is no execuse for this.

2 - The miniDisc does NOT work with Windows XP. Sony does not have drivers for Windows XP. So, if you have Windows XP and want to download music, go with something else

Review: I like this product very much. I use it to workout with. I can store about 50 songs on 1 minidisc. There is another recording function that allows you to record more songs on one, but the quality isn't as good. It sounds great and I can put any song on the disc.

Summary: MZ-G750DPC - sad and disappointed
Review: I saved up 300 bucks to buy this MD but it wasn't worth it. After a few months the jog (tuner) dial on the remote broke off (cheap parts), and if playing an MD, i can't hear the sound unless I hold down the piece connecting the remote to the unit. Initially I believed the problem was the headphones or remote but after trying several pairs i realize the problem must be with the unit. Not to mention the radio reception is terribly poor. I have a cheap... no name radio in the car and i get better reception. Another problem is when I push the FM button on the remote to start the radio, it either shuts off in 2 seconds, or it never turns on at all, remaining frozen with the flashing dashes on the display, even if I have the hold button on (both remote and unit)! I am ultra disappointed. I never even dropped the unit once. I guess Sony is cutting back.

Review: I would like to return this player because ( as someone else has mentioned ) the radio has poor reception and it does not have a driver for Windows-XP.

Summary: On-the-go hi-fidelity
Review: I've been putting off buying a portable listening device since my last '90 Aiwa tape player. But after seeing the Minidisc in action - it's a definite buy and constant use gem.

Sound quality? Can you say OPTICAL input. You cannot get any better sound resolution than this; any decent DVD player has an optical out; decent CD players too. RCA IN is a plus (not included) and the PC IN option is mediocre - it is convenient with all the CD-R/PC/MP3 formatted music. It's got a two-stage added-bass feature that works quite well. The standard headphones are excellent - an updated version with position detents for fixed fit. The remote fob device is essential for total playback+record control once your MDplayer is tucked away in the pocket. (look for the RM-MZR55 remote with backlighting if you want to upgrade)

The unit has never skipped even with major motion, jostling, or shock. I haven't done a drop-test, but I'll skip it for now. The biggest drawback is the lack of a custom case/holster for the unit; it does come with a bag, but it isn't adequate for protection or carrying with any confidence. Plus, the lack of backlighting on the main unit is a bummer.

It comes with it's own AA ni-cad battery and charger, and runs for a prolonged period of time ~ 6 hours playback, 1.5-2x as long on a regular AA. The half-sized ice cream sandwich form kicks the CD portable players to the curb. It isn't as ubiquitous as some MP3 players - but why would you want to drop several dimes on something invisible. Personally, the anodized blue colored one has more impact than the silver, but the form and interface overall is a delight. The battery bulge just slightly cants the display up, the button separation and placement works great for easy access. I find excuses to block the world out and listen to high-fidelity music on the go.
