Summary: A Nice product but at a high price
Review: A year ago, I bought a TSS-1B, so I decided to upgrade it with the RP-U200. After some wire cutting on the speakers, I had my system working. To tell the truth, I didn't notice a huge improvement, but silent cinema is fantastic. The FM tuner also comes in handy, but the presets must be saved in the computer's HD. The remote control is also useful, especially when watching movies with a few people in a small room. Oh and lastly, the unit looks nice. :)

So this unit is good, but is a bit expensive. For around 150-300 US I believe that full 5.1 PC sound systems can be bought, and they work well.

Summary: Excellent unit, great sound, and good solid build quality.
Review: Comes with infra red remote control. Supports Dolby ProLogic, Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS 5.1 decoding for DVD playback on a PC. Has seven Digital Sound Field Processing settings. Headphone socket and nice large volume control on front of unit. Built in FM tuner (which can be controlled from the PC) and external FM antenna connector. Has digital optical (S/PDIF), digital coaxial, USB, and analogue audio inputs for connecting to the computer. Also two auxiliary inputs (one for analogue and optical, one analogue only), plus analogue and optical outputs for recording. Supports up to five (unpowered home theater type) speakers, 14 Watts per channel. Line level subwoofer output. Works fine with Windows XP. Paid $ 200 for mine from Yamaha: http://www.yamahashoponline.com/.
Works well with the Sony SA-VE445H 5.1-Channel Surround Speaker System.

Summary: Excellent external audio device for your PC or audio devices
Review: I would have to say this was one of my smarter purchases. As one of the previous reviewers stated concerning their initial purchase of the TSS-1B, I did the same. I replace it with this unit and the sound quality is much better. I am not taking the old TSS-1B speakers and attach them to this unit, for I intend to sell the TSS-1B. I opted for Yamaha's NS-U50 for my primary speakers, plus added a Sony Sub, soon to be replaced by a Yamaha. I really like this unit, it is very versatile and I have also hooked a tape deck and a minidisk deck to it, where I am transferring all my old tapes to digital media. I found a USB audio recording program that allows this and it works great. I don't believe you can do any better than this unit for your PC's audio functions. I also got it from Yamaha Shop online for under $200. It was a good deal, considering what I have invested in the past for lesser quality audio devices for my PC.
