Summary: very good card
Review: Bougth together with SB 5200 5.1 speakers. Set up is easy. All plug inputs are colored. Couldn't be happier if consider the price I paid. I have rebates for both of them as rebates were available in June.

The sound is great and clear and loud enough. Acutally, the sound can match my home theater system, a Kenwood system I bought more than 3 years ago at about $450. But it lacks the sound power to fill a large room, and the Kenwood system does.

Summary: I almost like it.
Review: I almost like this card that's why only two stars.
I got this card as a replacement for my Turtle Beach Santa Cruz.
If the only thing you plan on having this card do is play music it's just fine.
Getting it to record is another. One must crank up the Main Volume as well as the input to get it to record properly.
There are some other small issues, when playing a MIDI file one must turn the Main and Midi Volume controls down, as the Midi will come blasting through. The additional sound card software is rather cumbersome and not well refined.

Summary: In-Line Recording has big problems
Review: I have been using the motherboard sound card on my Dell Dimension 8200 (using Roxio Soundtrax)to record my old cassette tapes and turn them into audio CDs and MP3 files. Everything worked great until I decided I needed 5.1 sound. So I bought this card. Installation was easy, sound is great, life is wonderful....until...I tried to do an in-line recording session. The recording volume had to be turned much higher and the recording was filled with clicks that could not be edited out. The quality of the recording was pretty bad. After many different tries at fixing this, I removed the card and reactivated the onboard sound card. The problem has been fixed. No clicks...perfect recording. Only now I have just stereo....no 5.1. The Audigy Sound card is going back to the store tomorrow.

Summary: high quality stuff..
Review: Sound is crisp and clear. As i watch movies ive seen before i notice little sounds i hadn't heard before. i bought this card with logitech z640 5.1 speakers. The speaker setting programs that come with the card work very well. There was one major problem i had with the card, though. I was replacing a motherboard sound card, so i had to disable motherboard sound in the BIOS and restore my computer for FULL functionality. If you dont restore, you cant use the mixers and windows sounds dont work. If your replacing another PCI sound card, this card will fit in easily. But if you have a mother board sound, you'll have spend a weekend backing up, restoring, and reinstalling programs.

Summary: Watch out!
Review: This card does NOT support imported soundfonts although their manual implies that it does. Good old Creative. Nowhere on their web site do they tell which products do and which do not support soundfonts. You have to find out the hard way.

The other features of this card are just fine. If you don't need to import soundfonts, then this may very well be the card for you. However their manual and, in fact, all of their tech writing is superficial and borderline useless.
