Summary: Bad stills, poor quality software
Review: A similar experience to most here in the UK. Many hours wasted getting some degree of quality from the webcam feature, involved long long downloads from the creative support web-site (although this was easy to locate and use). Having updated everything, I still encounter problems with the "go plus" software which crashes if trying to delete pictures from the album. I agree with others: forget the "go" feature, unless you are going to use this in glorious sunshine, very close up. Anything else and you will get very poor colour, blurred images etc. Not being able to preview your photo before logging back on to the PC makes this a real problem. The above was experienced on a bang upto date Dell XPS B800R, 128 Mb memory and Windows ME.

Summary: I gave it back to the shop
Review: Experience was acceptable as long as it was connected to the computer. Pictures somewhat dark and no bright colors, but it worked.

Then I took some off-line shots. Tried the photo series mode. Wanted to stop the series, so switched the camera off. It got a hang up. Connected it to the computer to store the pictures. Result: My computer crashed totally. Had to switch it off two times before Windows started again. From the help-line I got the procedure how to reset the camera. Some days later, the same thing happened again, but then the reset procedure didn't help any more.

I think the camera comes with a hobby programer's software. It's awfull. I gave the camera back to the shop.

Pros: Nice little webcam.

Cons: No flash, no adapter for tripod, low quality pictures unless you have bright sunshine. Very buggy software.

Summary: Best Buy!
Review: For the price, and the versatility, you can NOT beat this camera. From the moment I pulled it out of the box, I immidietly starting taking snap shots with the built in camera feature, as I was setting up the camera on my pc. I didn't have to wait long, as I didn't even need to restart (Windows XP), and began to download the photo's and live action video that I had just taken. If you're thinking about getting a webcam just to talk to friends and family, and need something to 'capture the moment', then i cannot stress the excelence of this wonderful device!

Summary: A Surprising DUD From Creative
Review: Having a Creative Sound Card, I expected nothing but a top-notch performance from this cam that I received as a gift. Boy was I disappointed. A nice appearance is the only thing the camera has going for it. Very poor picture performance, clunky adjustment interface and very likely to freeze up your machine. This version is not being made anymore and for good reason, but you may find them on sale at your local retailer, and I would strongly suggest avoiding the cheap price and going with something else. Perhaps Creative has gotten the bugs out with a newer version. If you are looking for a sound card, Creative Live! is top-notch, so you cannot dismiss all Creative Labs products (as someone in an earlier review did).

Summary: Poor quality
Review: I expected much better quality from Creative's WebCam Go. The picture and video quality is poor. I had to immediatly upgrade the drivers because my Gateway Solo 2500 laptop would get a fatal error with the camera's USB plugged in at boot. The newest drivers on Creative's web site ocrrected the problem. I purchased 3Com's HomeConnect PC Digital Camera at the same time and the video quality of 3Com's cam was greatly superior for only $20.00 more. I've since return the WebCam Go and purchased a second 3Com cam.

Summary: Nightmare on Go Street
Review: I must admit, I was soooo excited to get a webcam. That was before I ran into this one. Ships with outdated drivers. Freezes the computer. Will NOT work with netmeeting which supposedly it was designed to work with. One long distance call for tech support after another, led to downloading huge amounts of programs only to be told later, that they either did not work together or had to be installed in a different order. Went from a webcam that mildly worked to freezing my whole computer. Horrible customer service and overall a very poor product.

Summary: WEBCAN Go Plus
Review: I recently got two of these items and they work great. I operate under Windows 2000 Pro, USB port and its very convenient. The software did not have any problem loading and the drivers work just fine with Win2000. Not sure about earlier Windows versions. I especially appreciate the "GO" feature. This camera takes pictures fine for WEB use.

Summary: Good for the money if you like to play with pictures
Review: I've had my Webcam Go for several months and love it. I've not had problems with freezing of computer as reported in other reviews and I have an unsophosticated computer set-up. Its true the picture quality is mediocre at best but the product does not mislead regarding pixel and quality. Also keep inmind that printed quality also depends on quality of your printer with ink jets delivering superior photo quality. The software include when I purchased the camera allows one to work with the image - for example to sharpen, add or decrease contrast, hue, color saturation. Utilizing this software I've ended up with many good to high quality photos. Again this required learning the software which is very easy to use and for me a load of fun. I'd say this camera is perfect for people who will enjoy being creative and as I said earlier "play with pictures." A key to quality is adequate light and more important learning to focus the camera. The focus ring around the lens requires estimation of range to target. I found I became better at this over time. Also a major advantage is that the camera stores up to 90 images at highest quality setting. So I recommend when shoooting image you really care about - take more than one shot at different focus settings. Again I love mine! I have a background in photography including developing my own in a darkroom. Never thought I'd enjoy a digital camera this much...I think I like it because I do get to be a part of the creative process ( as in a darkroom )because I have to improve the quality using the software. In closing - if you want to download excellent pictures effortlessly this is not the camera for you. However if you are creative and like to work with images then you will have a blast. I'm buying one for my teenage neices because it will give them the experience of taking the picture and learning about contrast, color saturation and etc.
