Summary: Amazingly easy
Review: Having just bought my first computer last year and being a tech dummy, this product was amazingly easy, fast and incredible fun to work with. My friends and family are having a blast seeing what this camera and software can do. As of today, I have bought 2 and a friend of mine has bought 2 also...one for herself and her sister. Now we can communicate with live video and audio to family and friends anywhere in the world as long as they also have a web cam! The software is SO MUCH FUN! Stop motion animation, videos, slides shows, etc. with audio and video editing. If I had known computers could be this much fun, I would have bought one long ago. Mind you, I still can't access word perfect and still haven't a clue what ram is all about, but I can work this product and love it!

Summary: awesome camara
Review: I bought this camera around christmas time, I wanted a digital camera to take some pictures with and one i could use on the web. This one is really nice, pictures print out real nice up to 5x7 or so then they begin to look a little shabby.
Oh it does like batteries. Ha Ha Ha.
But it's about the best all around camera for the computer.

Summary: Loving it!
Review: I've been playing around with this camera for about a month now and my experience has been very good.

First, the cons:

The installation was a hassle for me because, for some reason, the software CD that comes with it didn't download. This problem was fixed by just going to Logitech's main site and downloading it from there. I have Windows XP Home Ed.

Pictures aren't always centered (within crop marks), especially upclose. I've tried to take a very upclose picture of a rose and ended up with the side petals and stem. The camera was held VERY still and for about 10 seconds to make sure it came out right. Never did. Not-so-upclose pictures are no problem.

The cover to the batteries compartment seems very flimsy, since it's plastic and already showing some slight wear around the edges.

Putting batteries in, because the signs are on the cover/latch and you gotta be somewhat coordinated.

Flash is VERY overexposed. Not reasonable to use even in dimest of conditions, because it washes everything out. It works better without flash. If you ABSOLUTELY need to use flash, use the automatic flash.

The webcam needs plenty of light to show proper color.

The waiting time while taking Flash pictures. It lasts about 10 seconds, varies, and makes taking spontaneous pictures impossible.

THE PROs:

Picture quality is superb for the amount of money I paided.

I don't know why so many people complain about batteries but I'm still using the ones I recieved with the camera! I try to conserve them by putting them in ONLY when I need to take pictures and taking them out when I'm done. I've already taken 100+ pictures. This camera saves the pictures without the need for batteries to be in use.

I've thrown this in my bookbag, with about 20 pounds worth of stuff and it's survived without a scratch!

It's just fun! The software includes a "survelliance feature" that turns the camera on when it detects motion. I'm thinking of trying it out one day on my brothers.

With all that being said, I would recommend this camera to anyone that just wants to have fun with photography and get beautiful results!

Summary: Good as a webcam. Horrible as a digital camera
Review: I've had the Clicksmart 510 for about a year now.
My main use for this camera is mostly as a webcam.
The quality is really good if used as a webcam.
If using it as a digital camera, the quality is horrible. Using excessive light might do it some justice. Batteries last a long time with this camera as well.

Summary: Pathetic digital camera; decent webcam.
Review: You get what you pay for. This camera is a few things, but what it is NOT is a standalone digital camera. If you are looking for a digital camera, look elsewhere. When used as a standalone digital camera, it will take about 10 pictures (about 5 with flash on) and then the batteries go dead.

It works decently as a webcam though - the saving grace is the bundled software which lets you do neat stuff like motion detection, etc. But all in all, not worth the megabucks for just a glorified webcam.
