The Umax Astra 2400SLT provides all the quality of more expensive scanners with many features unavailable on other models in its price range. A scanning bed of 14 by 8.5 inches is sized for documents up to legal size; the 2400SLT's 600 x 2,400 dpi (extendable up to 9,600 dpi with Umax Ultra View technology) means high-resolution, high-quality scans. Compatible with Macs and PCs, the 2400SLT has a SCSI-2 interface for superfast scanning, and its 48-bit color preprocessing provides over 68 billion colors. The 2400SLT is a single-pass scanner with a cold cathode lamp that lasts 10 times longer than fluorescent bulbs. With its copy utility, the scanner can be hooked up directly to a printer and can act as a copy machine for all your documents. The software bundle includes Adobe Photoshop LE, PhotoDeluxe, and PageMill.
