Summary: Sony SRF-HM33 headphone
Review: Advertised as a tv headphone in addition to am/fm,/weather, I purchased this headphone to hear tv while watching tv and using a treadmill in my home (about 10 feet away from the tv and in the same room as the tv with a direct line of sight.) There was tremendous static and almost non existent reception - the only way to get ANY tv audio reception on the headphone at all was to keep my head at an almost 90 degree angle to my body and that didn't last long! I tried the headphone with other tvs in my home and had the same results. This unit needs a better antenna and probably a second battery to have enough power to transmit tv sound. Didn't work for me and I returned it. Radio reception seemed ok although I didn't test it very much since that wasn't my reason for purchase.

Summary: Inexpensive, but still not worth it
Review: I admit it; I was drawn by the low price like a moth to the flame. I've had fairly good experiences with Sony products in the past and expected quality. Well, as the saying goes, "One gets what one pays for."

I live in a moderately large metropolitan area and have never had many problems with reception of local FM stations until now. Unless I have the sensitivity switch set to "Dx" (which dramatically reduces the sterio separation and apparently increases the background "hiss" or S/N ratio) I can barely receive anything at all. Even using this setting, reception is marginal at best.

Unless your expectations are lower than mine, I recommend that you purchase another headphone radio.

One other thing--I read the review of the woman who reports to use this set to receive television signals. I have no idea what she's referring to; I don't believe Sony markets this device as anything other than an AM/FM receiver.

Summary: Reception problem made it unusable
Review: I am still in search of the perfect radio/headphone set-up for the gym. I thought this would be the answer. But the reception inside my gym was terrible. Trying to listen to NPR's Morning Edition, I got more static than anything else. If I moved my head in various directions, it would come in clearer but how annoying is that! Especially when you're trying to run on the treadmill. So back it goes. Very disappointed.

Summary: Didn't Last Long
Review: I bought one of these and it worked great for about a month. Then the right channel started to cut out, probably from a loose connection. Now I'll have to send it back to Sony.

Summary: Durable, Comfortable SRF-HM33 Walkman
Review: I have used this same SRF-HM33 Sony Walkman radio for 2 or 3 years. It is fantastic in terms of comfort and clarity while jogging. I like everything built into the headset...I can't stand having to deal with a cord. Very reliable and well made. Only 2 minor problems: every once in a while the battery door will open and I sometimes forget how to preset the stations.

What I would like to find is this exact same headset with a 128MB or 256MB MP3 player built into it...and keep the FM/AM radio.

Summary: Just what I was looking for.
Review: I like to listen to talk radio and always dropped my portable radio. This is great, just what I needed.

Summary: Terrible Reception
Review: I returned this headset after 5 minutes of use. AM and FM reception are horrible despite antenna. Could not listen to a strong local station without constantly turning my head. Very disappointed.

Summary: Poor Design & Reception
Review: I use the radio indoors at a health club. The reception is terrible. When you turn your head, you lose the signal. Whoever did the interface design on this product needs mentoring by a hign level industrial designer. The on/off switch on the back of one of the headphones slides between the on and off postions. Unfortunately, when you carry the radio in your gym bag, the fabric rubs on the switch and the radio turns on. When it is time to use the radio again, the batteries are dead and your station presets have been erased. Setting the presets is a totally counter-intuitive experience. It can't be done without the instructions, a copy of which I have to keep in my gym bag. To preset the station, you have use some very small mode and enter buttons. The function of each button is printed on the headphone in a font that is so small and in a shade of gray that provide very little contrast with the darker gray surfaces on which the functions are printed that it is almost impossible to read the function information. When the audio is working, the quality is great. But it is very frustrating to use this radio. I owned the previous Sony model of thih radio for years and loved it. It worked great and was very easy to use and program. I bought this model without looking at it very carefully expecting that it would be better, or at least as good, as the previous model. But Sony disappointed me this time. I can't put up with this radio anymore. I am looking for a replacement.

Summary: A great radio for it's portability
Review: This is a really good radio if you don't want the hassle of holding it near your pants or belt. I really used it a lot when biking or walking around. This radio isn't bulky so it won't hurt your head. The sound quality is very good, and the durability is high.

Summary: Outstanding headphone - the best on the market today!
Review: This is by the far the best AM/FM headphone radio I've owned and I have owned quite a few. I searched every electronic store in my area trying to find a headphone like this and could only find it through amazon.com.

The clarity of the radio reception is excellent. Having 20 preset stations makes it so easy to switch stations when you don't like the song playing on the current station. This is also the most comfortable headphone radio I've had. I can wear it for hours and it never gets uncomfortable. I also can't deal with having the wired headphones or the ones you wear on your arm, so this one is ideal.

I actually liked this headphone so much I bought two more, one to keep at work and one to give to my husband. He likes it as much as I do.

For the people who gave this product such poor ratings, you must be abusive with your things. I use my headphone so much and switch stations constantly and I have never had any problems with it.

I highly recommend this headphone for anyone wanting a reliable, comfortable, great reception radio, with no wires and the ease of changing stations at the touch of a button.
