Summary: Check your hardware/Software prior to purchasing blank media
Review: ... Especially for DVDs. These have been working perfectly for me. I haven't wasted one disk. I had similar problems before when I purchased the incorrect media. I would try and try to burn a dvd and got an error every time. After tons of trouble-shooting, I realized that I needed this type for the hardware that I have. I haven't had one problem since I changed. CHECK YOUR HARDWARE/SOFTWARE prior to purchasing to make sure it is all compatible. It will save you a lot of time and trouble.

Summary: 4X DVD+R will work at 8X
Review: Although they have change it from Rioch to CMC MAG-F01-00, the quality is almost the same. You can still burn at 8X not only 4X. I have using my cheap I/O magic drive burning more than 20 disc at 8X with no problem. Great product for the price.

Summary: terrible!
Review: Bad bad bad. I'm not sure exactly what is wrong with these discs, whether it is flimsy material or an asymmetrical center but they are not reliable. I purchased a 50 spindle and from the first 28 used only one worked properly. This is an expensive waste. I suggest going with better quality discs at the outset. It will save on headache later.

Summary: Cheap media for a big price
Review: Don't bother buying this - it's cheap CMC Magnetics stuff inside with Media Id Code Speed (surprise-surprise) 2.4x, so no wonder it couldn't be written at 4x!

Hope that helps some people. Good luck with your shoppin'

Summary: Please listen - these are truly awful!!
Review: God knows where these people get their Memorex loyalty, but I'm being totally honest when I tell you these disks suck. I have used several brands and burned tons of DVDs with discs both much cheaper and more expensive then these, and Memorex are the only discs I have used that didn't play in all 4 of our DVD players. Also, these will only burn at 2.4X without some special firmware upgrade that is impossible to find and has a lengthy disclaimer regarding DAMAGE TO YOUR DVD BURNER (this is not by any assumption; you will find a flyer on the top of the spindle telling you the exact same thing). This is another problem quite unique to Memorex as every other brand I have used burns at 4X without issue. The bottom line here is if you want to burn at 4X without searching for a risky upgrade and want to be sure of compatibility, purchase ANY OTHER BRAND ON THE MARKET!!!! The sad thing is these disks are not all that cheap that you should have to settle for such garbage quality.

Summary: Burn_baby_Burn
Review: Good stuff for the price. Double check the price on the 25, 50, and 100 spindle since the 25 was cheaper to buy for awhile. I have used many of these and no problems with playback at x4 burn speed and no coasters using Nero. They are also less flimsy than the cheaper ones. Also, I like not any coloring on disks (all silver) so makes easier for labels. I think that if people are having problems with playback near the end of the dvd, they should try dialing down the burn speed. I actually go x2 burn speed for some other brands (kypers).

Summary: Very Reliable, Great Quality
Review: Haven't had any problems burning hundreds of DVDs at 4X speed. Watch for price fluctuations - Don't pay more than $1 per disc!

Summary: My Optorite drive will not recognize them...
Review: I bought a 25 pack of these. My Optorite drive has detected and written over a dozen other brands of +R discs. These are the ONLY discs that it wont recognize. I even upgraded the firmware on my drive.

Oddly, I just finished up a 25 pack that I got about a year ago. Going to dvdhelp, you can see that there are several different manufacturers of Memorex disks. I dont know who made these... I cant even read them.... but they dont work and I would not recommend them.

Summary: Fine product
Review: I don't know if what's inside is CMC Magnetics and I know nothing about Id Code Speed, but I do know that I've been using this blank media since I bought my NEC 1300A, I have already burned around 30 DVDs, always using 4x speed (around 17 minutes to burn a full DVD), and I never had a coaster. Never. I find this Memorex blank media DVD 4x the best bang for your buck: not that expensive (one dollar for each DVD) and perfectly good.

Summary: Beware NEC 1100A Owners!!
Review: I had backed up many DVDs on Memorex dvd+r at 4X, so this time i went for the 50pack. The problem is that these new discs will only burn at 2.4X, probably they changed the id coding in the dvds and the last firmware upgrade for the NEC 1100A doesn't support 4X writing on these brand. Now i'm stuck with a 50pack spindle that only burns at a slow 2.4X(about 40 min per DVD). So before you buy i'd suggest you buy a pair of individual DVD's just to make sure they will work on your burner. I'll guess i'll try the HP DVD+R 4X that are priced very similar. And also NEC won't do any more firmware upgrades on the 1100A. The newest version is 10GE and it does not support these. It was released may 2003.
