Summary: By anything, except a predator
Review: I purchased this predator drive to use with a Dell Dimension 4100, P4 1.7, 512MB Ram, etc.... and this drive is awful. I have had it replaced twice by Iomega. Sometimes it will burn CD's, it will never back up data. Most of the time it will not recognize blank CD's. I put it in the closet and bought a Yamaha internal. I hope this review was helpful. It may work better with a different OS than Windows 2000.

Summary: BEST CD BURNER EVER!!!!
Review: Though some may say that this burner is non reliable, wastes cd's but why they say that it is it does that because of what they do.
They dont know how to work it or they just do it wrong. Thats there problem right there. This cd burner was very easy to install took only minutes. and it easyer than ever to use. is small compact design makes it a perfect addition to any computer.It may not be the fastest burner for USB connection but it does get the job done with perfect qaulity. And its price is perfect. maybe not for USB users but its full speeds our worth its money. SO i recomend this to any one who likes burning cds without any problems - predator user

Summary: Not for OS X, but....
Review: I bought this drive only because it was Win/Mac compatible.
But When I actually tried to install the driver/software, I realized that this drive is not compatible with OS X. I went to their website, but the driver was not available for OS X. What I like about it is that it doesn't take up much space. It's not the fastest CD burner on the market, but I don't burn 20 CDs a day and this is good enough. I hope they will come up with OS X driver soon.

Summary: Not overly impressed...
Review: I was excited when I bought this, I was expecting IOMEGA to come out with another great product, but they didnt do so well on this one. Sure, it works.... It burns CD's, BUT the drive has bugs, it acts strange, doesnt want to read blank CD's, and gets VERY hot during use. The software package that it comes with is less than perfect, although it is usable. I have had better luck with IOMEGAs other drive, and with drives from other manufacturers.

Summary: Reliable as old friend
Review: Predator (USB) is very easy and simple to install. After installation (april 2001) I started to use it on daily basis almost. And it works perfectly either with data, or with text, or with pictures, or with videos - in one word - I like it a lot, and now Predator is like old reliable friend of mine.
There is only one problem regarding software bundle which comes with it. There is no way to use Roxio v.5.0 Platinum software - it is not supported - you can ONLY use Adaptec v.4.02 and DirectCD 3.0 (the Predator's driver is hidden whithin the bundled software and there is no way to extract it and put it together with Platinum version).
Predator (USB) or with Firewire is The Best one can find on the market probably. Speed - it is enough. Four stars - because of too high price only.

Summary: This thing is HOT!
Review: This thing.......is OFF DA HEEZY. Ive seen all kinds of other ones and tested them but this one was THE best one for its price range. (...) This thing is sooooo fast. Trust me, people a lot of the complaints people have on amazon are by non experienced people. (...) I have no complaints on the burner but i do have one on mp3's. I dont like streamed audio. It is a pain in the (...). You cannot burn them unless you convert them. I have not experienced any other problems. I have used all kinds of cd-r(tdk, imation, etc....) and they all work perfectly. I use this on WIndows ME(not you) and it is perfect as long as u dont run any other programs while burning cd's. Also this thing is very pimp. Its sleek portable and off the hook. This is the best lookin external burner burner out there(other than me in basketball). Also if u have a firewire adapter(wateva dat is) it can be double the speed. Take my word..this IS the best one as long as u dont have a slow computer. It takes me maybe 20mins. at the MAX when i burn cds. I always burn them on 4x speed and i havent had any errors. I have made well over 20 cds. All my friends say this thing is off da chain(cool).Ive burned cd's for my friends (...) Alright i gotta go but pleez believe me this thing has everything( cables, blank cd-r, LOTS of software.

Summary: Don't Waste Your Time
Review: I am using this burner with a Dell Inspiron 4000 running under Windows 2000 Professional and found the burner (less than good) at best. This piece of junk has caused me more problems and wasted CD-R's than it's original price. I have done everything to make the software work, but the amount of time it freezes and crashes the system makes this CD-RW not worth the time. I would pass on this technologically poor solution unless you need a lot of extra CD-R drink costers for your home.

Review: The product is not only worthless, so are the costumer service and tech departments at Iomega. I have spent several months and over three hours on the phone with these incompetent rejects. I wouldn't dare buy anything else from this joke of a company. If you do, good luck!!

Summary: Iomega Predator 4x4x6 USB CD-RW
Review: Great buy -it does all you ask it to - maybe a little slower than a Firewire model would do. Now I can store all my photos and files I don't use very much and my HD has room to breath again.
