Summary: Defective
Review: My unit arrived defective. After installing new batteries, it showed the no battery symbol and was hard to get to turn on. I checked the batteries and all 3 delivered over 1.5v. I can sometimes get it to turn on, but not reliably enough to use. I plan to return it.

Summary: Good Design, Effective Implementation
Review: Received it as a gift. Set it up in a couple minutes, choosing my presets in the AM and FM bands. (It also receives TV audio, but I don't watch TV.) Put in batteries, hung it over the shower-curtain rod, and have now used it every morning for four years. 100% reliable with good sound. Well done, Sony.

Summary: On our second one
Review: Seems like the nicest shower radio out there, and has a lot of nice features, but is not very water proof. First one quit working, and when I opened the battery compartment, it was completely rusted. It was hung on a towel rack at the far end of the shower, and didn't have a whole lot of direct water sprayed at it. I tried to clean it out, but I think too much water had gotten in and fried the unit. We ended up throwing it out. We liked the radio so much we thought we'd give it another chance and purchased another one. The second one started to have the same problem. I cleaned up the battery compartment and let if air out for a few days and it started working again. We now only use it on the bathroom counter. I still think it's a nice radio, but not really worth it if it can't be used in the shower. I think if the battery compartment cover had a better rubber gasket, and was able to be tightened down, then it would be perfect.

Summary: OUTSTANDING SHOWER RADIO!
Review: So I wanted a shower radio for Christmas a few years ago and my wife, God bless her, did a ton of research on them and picked out this one. And am I glad she did!!! WOW!!! What a little workhorse! And as far as being water resistant, this thing rocks! Anyone looking for a shower radio should just stop here and buy this one. You won't regret it.

Summary: Poor material design - Limited life
Review: The buttons have worn through in 6 months on BOTH my radios. Just a really poor design. When I contacted Sony, they gave me absolutely no satisfaction.
Expensive. Poor TV reception.

Summary: It's my Lake Radio
Review: This is the best ballgame listening device I've ever had. After reading the reviews, I concluded it was not 100% Waterproof. However, I just put it in a little plastic bag, paddle out to a buoy, tie up and listen to the game. Water has gotten on it several times and it has responded fine. I do take the batteries out and dry them if it has gotten really wet, so as to avoid the corrosion others spoke about in their reviews. I am going to buy a couple back-ups in case they stop making this thing. It is very rare to find a product that actually exceeds your hopes.

Summary: Find it and buy it
Review: This is the best shower radio I've found so far. Easy to use, very good sound, better than any of the others on the market. If you can find it, buy it. You wont be disappointed.

Summary: It's worh the extra cost
Review: This shower radio cost a bit more than other shower radios for a reason. It works! It's built solid and has lots of nice features. The volume knob is easy to use with wet hands. The digital tuner tunes 'right on' and pulls in the stations I've had a hard time getting with other radios. There are 5 presets for each band AM,FM1,FM2,TV, and Weather that make it EZ to change stations when all soaped up. The digital clock is a nice feature so you know how late you are. It also has a timer(good for kitchen use I guess) and several auto off delays. The speaker sounds nice too and isn't tinny. I tried several other shower radios before this one and they were all junk. I am very happy with this one. Well worth the extra cost. I guess you get what you pay for.
