Summary: OS/2 is still for sale
Review: This is a two-year subscription to IBM's "Software Choice" program for OS/2. This gives you an installable copy of the newest version of Warp 4.52 on two bootable CD-ROMs along with additional CD-ROMs of OS/2 software on the Software Choice server at IBM. The Warp 4.52 install worked flawlessly on my Athlon XP system with 60 GB hard disk. The Warp 4.52 OS has been fun to use and very stable, stable, and virus-free. I have found an amazing amount of free OS/2 software at but Warp 4.52 also runs some of my Windows software as well as Java 2, X86 Linux software, and DOS Games (many free ones online now). It comes with 'boot manager' software that lets you keep several different operating systems on the same system and also has a 'logical volume manager' that assigns drive letters to each volume (these letters are only recognized by OS/2, Windows assigns its own drive letters).

After purchasing this, you fax or mail a signed registration card and IBM emails you a User ID and Password which gives you access to their new Software Choice software for OS/2 including their powerful TCP/IP internet stack and the new IBM Web Browser based on Mozilla but faster, lighter, and cooler.

If you want to try something different than Windows, buy this package and get some powerful operating system software that is a lot of fun to use. A warning, though: There is absolutely no telephone or email support provided for this from IBM who does not seem to want to even acknowledge that they sell it. The best source of information that I found for using this was from online newsgroups. There are also some pretty good websites with help.
