Summary: Player works, but the headphones broke!
Review: It's a nice player for anyone who wants a simple, cheap portable CD player. I purchased this as a Christmas gift for my husband last year, but I probably get the most use out of it. The anti-skip feature works well, and the car adapter is wonderful! The plastic headband for the headphones broke after just two uses, though. Not a bad buy for the money, though.

Summary: This is the best one I've seen
Review: It has been great. Bought this for my daughter for christmas and believe me she has given it the work out!!! The only thing that keeps me from giving it a 5 star is the darn head set. But all in all this is the best value for the money.

Summary: Piece of Junk
Review: What a piece of junk. It never worked properly out of the package. Kept cutting off and I had to keep taking the batteries out to make it cut back on. The controls are flimsy. I wish I would have paid the extra $10 bucks and bought a name brand....

Summary: WILL IMPRESS YOU
Review: THIS LITTLE PLAYER SURPRIZED ME WITH HOW WELL IT PREFORMS. IT REPRODUCES MUSIC VERY CLEARLY AND WITH THE ANTI-SHOCK DOES NOT SKIP AT ALL. YOU REALLY HAVE TO BE ROUGH WITH IT TO GET IT TO SKIP. IT ALSO HAS A LINE OUT JACK ON THE SIDE. WITH THIS YOU CAN PLAY IT THROUGH ANY AMP FOR EVEN BIGGER SOUND. YOU HAVE THE OPTIONS OF BATTERY, HOUSEHOLD CURRENT OR THE LIGHTER IN YOUR CAR AS POWER SOURCES. THE HEADPHONES ARE NOT UP TO SNUFF WITH THE PLAYER THOUGH. THEY SOUNDED A LITTLE BRIGHT TO ME RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX. THE PLAYER ITSELF HAS ALL THE FUCTIONS YOU MIGHT EXPECT-REVERSE,FF,PAUSE,PROGRAMMABLE PLAY AND REPEAT PLUS MORE. BATTERY LIFE SEEMED SHORT TO ME SO, IT MIGHT BE BEST TO PLUG IT IN WHILE IN THE HOUSE. IT SEEMS DURABLE AND ITS COOL TO SEE THE DISC SPINNING THROUGH THE LID. IT ALSO HAS A BASS BOOST AND I FEEL IT HELPS THE SOUND QUITE A BIT. IT HAS A CAR KIT TO PLAY IN THE CAR TOO. ALL IN ALL I WAS PLESANTLY SUPRIZED BY THIS UNIT EVEN THOUGH I NEVER HEARD OF GPX. RECOMMENDED.

Summary: Not for joggers
Review: In most respects this CD player is just what I wanted. Unfortunately it does not offer the level of shock resistance that I hoped for. It skips frequently when used while jogging. Otherwise, a fine product.

Summary: The Best ever At a Price for everyone
Review: The C3948BI itself is impressive for the price. It handled the tremulous, high notes of Dmitri Shostakovich without sounding shrill, and it delivered the thumping bass line of a Cowboy Junkies song without sounding muddy. The bass boost switch didn't produce the kind of bass you can feel, but for our taste and for a portable CD player it sufficed. At a midrange volume level we detected a slight hiss, but when we adjusted the volume up or down it went away.I got this cd player because it has all the things on it and its easy to use and program and the color is ice blue and thats cool and the sound is wide open and clear no skipping at all and I dont use batteres that often I love the wall adapter its all i neadSince my old CD player was skipping often and a bit outdated, I decided to try the GPX Blue Ice CD Player. At first, I had my doubts (I had never, ever heard of GPX in my life). Having used it, though, I have to admit that I am very satisfied. First of all, I absolutely love the icy blue color (who wouldn't?) and the way that you can see the spinning CD while you're listening. This player is surprisingly slender and lightweight, so it's easy to carry around. I thoroughly tested the ESP (Electronic Shock Protection) by dropping it, bopping it, and slapping it silly. It didn't miss a beat! And now for the coolest feature: Have you ever been bored out of your skull during a field trip or a looong car drive?(Is the Pope Catholic! ) Well, be bored no more! The GPX player's awesome car adapter kit is easy to use (you don't need to be an electronics whiz to use it), and it enables you to bring your music wherever you go. The bass boost system is also great. Best of all, this CD player is priced very nicely, so you can use the extra money towards a new set of headphones (The included pair is a tad flimsy). If you are a music fanatic (like me!), than I suggest you try out the GPX Blue Ice CD Player. I love it, and you will too!

Summary: GOOD BUY! SERIOUSLY!!
Review: The Casio PZ4000B personal CD player features a 40-second antishock memory, so you can enjoy your favorite CDs during any activity. Bass boost cranks up the low end with just the push of a button, and the 20-track programmable memory lets you customize CD playback to your liking. The player also features repeat play functions (1/all) and a two-digit LCD screen. If you are on the move like me, you should invest the extra money, and buy a player with an anti skip feature, like this one. As well, the Ultra slim feature of this product makes it handy to even carry in a large pocket, if you are walking down the street with a jacket or even pants with larger pockets. It is a very attractive player, and the car kit is a definite bonus. The one downer about the product is the chinsy headphones that comes with it. Casio always seems to have headphones that I could get for free on an airplane. Koss has the upper hand in this department. But alas, I still give it 4 stars, because I have always had great success with Casio products, and this machine has so many excellent features. I would DEFINATELY recommend this product, it has served me well! Hope this review was helpful! Like Neil Young says, keep on rockin' it the free world...peace.

Summary: Very Good for the Price
Review: It eats up batteries fast, i suggest getting rechargables, and the antishock didn't work on some cds, but its great for $.... I've seen others for as much as $..., and it does work well. Many people complained about the headphones but i found nothing wrong with them. They didn't fit well at first, but if you put them on backwards they fit and work fine. The bass boost was kind of weak, but it worked ok. It is kind of flimsy and skips alot unless you put on the antishock. With it on its very good and doesn't skip no matter what you do. But i have found that it doesn't work on some cds for some reason, and its always the same ones. It starts skiping and then shuts off. I believe it has to do with how the songs are set up, when I looked on the bottom of the cd the ones that had the groves close together on the outer egde did not always work with the antishock. But if you left it still it works fine without the esp anyway. I lost the insturtions and i don't remember how the random thing works, but over all its a great player for a great price and i'm not complaining.

Summary: Didn't last long - and where is GPX?
Review: Bought this for a gift for Christmas 2000, it stopped playing in April. Of course we can't find anything but the manual and receipt - all with no trace of who GPX is or where, except "High Hill, MO" (no listing for GPX there on switchboard.com). I may be wrong, but I suspect this is a classic case of getting what you pay for. Buyer beware!
