Summary: It simply doesn't work!!
Review: I bought this product thinking I'd have a PDF generator that was cost effective and would be simple to use. WRONG! Firstly files that I've saved suddenly wouldn't open and had to be generated and saved again - and again - and yet again! Then, files I've emailed to people sometimes won't open (I sent 3 files to 1 person - he could open 2 but not the 3rd!). Finally the software just stopped working altogether when I'd done NOTHING to my PC (this after about 7 days). Finally, the customer service is non existant. You have to post messages on a forum - and no one has as yet answered mine (the forum is full of questions asking for fixes to various bugs - that is, its like a beta version you're buying), and finding an email address is nearly impossible - I think I found one for the customer care dept, but as no one has bothered to answer it I'm not so sure.

My advise in one breath is quite simple - AVOID IT!!!!

Summary: Version 3 is pretty good
Review: I read a review of RoboPDF 3.0, the current version, on MSNBC.com and since it was offered at half price on their website, I rushed over and downloaded a copy. BTW you can download an unlimited trial version, which puts a watermark on your PDF file but is otherwise fully functional. Anyway it works quite well. I had an old version of Acrobat on my Win98 machine but I couldn't install it on XP for unknown reasons, but now I can create PDF files using RoboPDF! If you have strange fonts you might run into problems, but for 99% of your standard documents -- I use Word most of the time but occasionally also convert TeX files -- RoboPDF works beautifully.

Definitely download the trial version and see for yourself. Amazon.com should re-carry this product.

Summary: Ease Of Use Is Key Factor
Review: Not all of us have access to a full Adobe software package. Yet, there are times when the availability of a secure printed document that is easily openable by the average user is key. Since Adobe's PDF format has become the defacto format for cross platform documents, RoboPDF provides the user with the ability to quickly produce a PDF file from their original source. This software runs on multiple Microsoft OS (I tried it on Win98 and Win2K) and had no problems with the installation or the execution. There is also a free downloadable trial demo that will allow you to get a feel for the product. I tried several progams (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, IBM's Expense Tracker Program to name a few) and all translated and opened flawlessly! If you don't have Adobe then you MUST HAVE this one.

Summary: perfect for creating PDF files
Review: Occationally I need to share documents from applications other people might not have or even protect them from being altered. PDF is a great format for this but I'm not willing to spend much for a PDF conversion tool. Then I found Robopdf. For $ this software rocks! It acts like a print driver so when you want to convert one of your windows files into a PDF you simply click print and choose Robopdf from your printer driver list and boom, you have a PDF. It seems to work with any windows program but I tend to use it with Word and Excel the most.
