To fully exploit the functionality of R/3 3.0, business users need to be both confident and proficient in the use of all the main navigational features and systems functionality of SAP. This course is essential study for users of all R/3 modules, regardless of the organization's business activities. While confidence in the use of Windows applications is a prerequisite to using Working with R/3 3.0, no other IT experience is presumed. Please note that the skills taught in this program will not be repeated in any of the following SAP R/3 courses. This course is a prerequisite to all NETg's R/3 3.0 courses

Learn To:

- Enter a personal password to log on and start an R/3 session, and select the appropriate menu item to log off the system

- Describe the structure of an R/3 screen

- Control the system, display information from the system, and to use the screen's entry and display fields

- Use the mouse or keyboard to control the R/3 System, and execute R/3 functions by executing mouse clicks on a toolbar or by using function keys

- Access R/3 applications using the three levels of the menu system

- Execute transactions by working in a dialogue with the system

- Understand dialogue messages that point out errors or ask you to check entries for accuracy

- Work in parallel with several applications

- Access and use the R/3 Help System, Reference Library and Extended Help

- Use a matchcode as a Help tool to allow you to search for information already saved in the R/3 System

- Use special functions to execute the same procedures multiple times, handle various data, print data from the system, and automatically transfer large volumes of data into the R/3 System

Unit 1: Managing the Dialog

- Identify and locate the R/3 screen service elements

- Use Keyboard and Function Key facilities

- Use of the three menu levels, selection and opening of applications

- Working with a single application

- Working with multiple applications

- Identifying, classifying and responding to Dialog Messages

- Describe and identify how Help is organised within R/3, including base and Extended Help, the R/3 Library, the Glossary and release information

- Use of Fast Help, help F1 and help F4, including the ? and Magnifying glass buttons, using input field information, using selection lists , Results Help

- The applications of on-line-documentation

- Search for information, using match codes and transferring results to an input field

- The effective use of different selection criteria for discrete searches
