This is the second course in a three part series that students will learn about PHP and introduces Microsoft Active Server Pages (ASP) and VB Script. Additionally, this course will cover debugging PHP, PHP security, introduction to ASP, using VBScript, ASP intrinsic objects, and ASP default components.

Audience
The audience for this course includes Application Developers, Webmasters and Desktop Publishers. Prerequisite skills include CIW Foundations certification or equivalent experience. Students also must pass the CIW Web Languages exam, which includes the CIW Web Languages: Perl Fundamentals and CIW Web Languages: JavaScript Fundamentals courses, and completed the CIW Fundamentals of CGI Using Perl courses, or have a working knowledge of client-side scripting, JavaScript or VBScript. In addition, students should have taken the first part of this series (87053). This course is mapped to the Master CIW Enterprise Developer Certification Program, and will prepare students for exam 1D0-430.

Objectives
Unit 1: PHP: Debugging and Security 3 hours

Identify the type of PHP error message generated by a specified line of code.

Identify the security option settings to be included in the php.ini file to meet the specified security requirements.

Unit 2: ASP: Fundamentals 2 - 3 hours

Complete the diagram depicting the steps to process a client request for an Active Server Page.
Complete the settings required to run Active Server Pages on a Windows 98 computer by using the Programs menu.
Complete the settings required to run Active Server Pages on a Windows NT server by using the Programs menu.
Create an Active Server Page by inserting ASP code in an HTML file.
Identify the code to insert a Server-Side Include file in an Active Server Page.
Identify the scripting language that should preferably be used in a specified situation.
Select the partial code that contains correct variable declarations for a specified situation.
Identify the code in which VBScript is used to perform an array-related task.
Select the partial code that uses the program flow constructs in VBScript to perform a specified task.
