Summary: so short yet kind of sweet
Review: I'm not too sure what people were expecting from Zaion considering its 4 episodes long but let me give you my perspective. Zaion is a love story that doesnt get too in depth but if one looks at the situation it could happen. Yuuji our main male character is the leader of the NOA soldiers leading the fight against a virus that turns humans into monsters. The soldiers are equiped with nanotechnology which enables them to wear body armour to fight against the virus or people who are infected. Eventually the virus will take on new strands and the soldiers who were equiped with nanotechnology will be infected as well. This is where our female lead character Ai comes into play because she is the secret weapon against the virus(Yuuji eventually becomes infected). Yuuji and Ai eventually meet up because seemingly Ai is lonely and constantly sees Yuuji in the courtyard from her room. Eventually Ai has enough guts and visits Yuuji in the courtyard and its just to be honest a wierd scene because no one says anything. Then during one battle they use Ai and she does nothing till she sees that Yuuji is in danger and she saves him from imminent death(yada yada). This series could have been a lot longer and it would have been better but dont dismiss it because it is so short. Its not one the best animes i have seen but it is comparable to Voices of a Distant Star or Video Girl Ai. So yeah i'd say it its worth buying :)

Summary: dull
Review: Pretty much all mecha anime cliches with little new. There are some nice touches here and there, but you're better off watching Gasaraki instead.

Summary: dull
Review: The first thing you should know about Zaion is that it only has four episodes, two per DVD. Zaion was originally planned to be released over the internet as a "Web-series" but the directors though that it would do better offline. One major 'new' featue that Zaion offers is that it combines CG graphics with cel animation. Sometimes the blend is perfect, other times, not. Anyway, on with the review! Zaion is a four episode show about Yuuji and Ai. Yuuji works in the NOA division of military (Nano Osmolar Armor) which is one of Earth's best line of defense against the M34 virus strand. The M34 virus came from a meteorite which crashed to Earth. The virus attacks one's DNA and causes the person to mutate into horrible, Resident Evil like zombies. However, the NOA's have Nano Machines in their system. Whenever they're in danger, the Nano Machines come to the surface of their skin and forms a layer of protective armor that can transform. Ai is a young girl that has psyic powers. She can harness them with the Engine, which tranmits a holographic image of Deva, a being that can is made of pure energy. I won't spoil the series for you, but let me just say that a lot can happen within 2 hours!

Summary: So much to cover in so little time....
