Summary: My Review...
Review: I thought this was one funny movie. Neilson always brings out comedy in the other movies flaws. The main story line is he is accused of murder, and he must go on a hunt to find the real killer. The movie really spoofs the Fugitive, being that he does everything that Ford did, just a bit funnier.

In spoofs, there really is no plot, exept the title. For example, Airplane!, Scary Movie, Mafia, Spy Hard etc.. When you see a spoof, you know it took a lot of time and effort to do. There were pretty good effects in the film too.

The plot is OK, it is what is right for Leslie Neilson. I hopoe he continues. Do you understand the guy is nearly 80 years old? The stuff he does in his films, well most 60 year olds can not do. Congrats.

Thanks,

R Y A N

Summary: An interesting but unfortunate oversaturation of Nielsen.
Review: Leslie Nielsen is the kind of actor you either love or hate. Some people love his oddball sense of humor, while others despise his sometimes sick and perverse ideas. With that said, the first "Naked Gun" film is considered a classic by many, and his other films have varied degrees of quality. So when "Wrongfully Accused" was released, no one knew what to expect. Sadly, the end result is Nielsen's attempt to make up for his bad films by filling this movie with so many jokes that no one still knows what to think.

"Wrongfully Accused" is Nielsen's spoof of "The Fugitive", as well as several other movies that include "Titanic", "Anaconda", "Braveheart", "Mission: Impossible", and even "North by Northwest". Herein lies the first problem: too much material to work with. Now, spoofing movies isn't a bad thing, but spoofing a LOT of movies can be a little nauseating. And when some of the spoofs aren't even that necessary or particularly funny, one can only wonder whether the licensing of the movies so Nielsen can spoof them was worth it.

And then there are the typical Nielsen jokes that his fans are so accustomed to. Unfortunately, they face the same problem as the movie-spoofing: there are just too many of them. Don't get me wrong, there are several extremely funny scenes in "Wrongfully Accused", but for some odd reason they are lost in a mindless sea of unfunny fillers. Viewers might one minute laugh at a joke, and then the next instant frown in disgust at a completely unnecessary joke. For some reason, Nielsen refuses to give viewers a break from his oddball humor. While this works in some cases ("Mystery Science Theater 3000", for example), it doesn't work with "Wrongfully Accused". The tiny yet noticeable breaks between jokes is what helped make the first "Naked Gun" movie a classic, and unfortunately "Wrongully Accused" didn't use that formula and suffers because of it.

Plotwise, the movie is just as ridiculous as the spoofs and jokes, which can be a good thing or a bad thing. Because of the oversaturation of Nielsen's humor, some of the scenes aren't even that necessary to the movie; they are just there to make fun of something. I'd like anyone to tell me that the "Baywatch" spoof scene was vital to the plot of "Wrongfully Accused".

Regarding the actors, everyone does a pretty decent job. Thankfully, there are no bad actors to make viewers grind their teeth in disgust. Still, the script does manage to raise some eyebrows. Yes, it's a Nielsen movie with Nielsen jokes, but even a Nielsen movie needs a good script (again, see the first "Naked Gun").

All in all, "Wrongfully Accused" is a questionable movie at best. It can be argued that this movie tanked at the box office because it was a bad movie to begin with, but I think a lot of people are getting sick and tired of Leslie Nielsen. And since this movie is filled to the brim with his oddball humor, it's easy to see why they wouldn't have liked it. My advice is to approach this movie with caution. If you can stand hundreds upon hundreds of Nielsen's jokes in a short time span, then give "Wrongfully Accused" a try. Just don't be surprised if you think that the ending credits (which are downright hilarious) are funnier than the entire movie overall.

Summary: I'd give my copy away...
Review: ...but would have to really hate the recipient. This is the Worst movie that I've ever seen.
I normally like Nielsen's comedies, but this one just makes me cry for the wasted time. In the DVD commentary, the director jokes that he was picked because he is fast and cheap. Unfortunately, I think this movie is a Hollywood joke on the audience. The film-makers realize that they can make money on Anything since apparently We have no taste.
There are lots of attempted gags, but zero subtlety. A spoof needs to be based on more than simply setting up recognizable moments from a random collection of better movies.

Summary: This is an fantastic movie!
Review: Leslie Nilsen has done it again. First it was The man with the naked gun, then Spy Hard and now an ecstreamly funny movie. They mimic after Mission Imposible, The fugitive, U.S Marshall, Baywatch and many more movies. This is my all time favourite movie, along with someone else like Austin Powers, Dumb and Dumber an Hot Shots! Part Deux. Well, its only one thing to say about this movie: Brilliant work, Leslie!!

Summary: Good movie, Good features, Full-Screen?
Review: Besides Airplane! and the Naked Gun movies, this is definately one of Leslie Nielsen's funniest, spoofing over 35 movies, including THE FUGITIVE. You can watch this over and over and still laugh and laugh even throughout the entire credits. This was written, directed, and produced by Pat Proft, creator of the POLICE ACADEMY, NAKED GUN, and HOT SHOTS! films.

The DVD itself was released in 1998, the same year as the movie. For a movie and small as this in 1998, this DVD has lots of special features, more than some DVDs released today. This DVD features a DVD-ROM trivia game, an interview with the cast, many trailers, and a slide show. On top of that there are also two featurettes. The first, (VISUAL F/X) is located in the special features menu and is an 8-minute documentary of the special effects in the movie. The second, (PRODUCTION NOTES) is located in the "about the film" menu and is a 5-to-10-minute documentary about the movie itself and some additional special effects in the movie.

The movie is also presented in a theatrical Dolby Digial 5.1 soundtrack, which I thought was quite pleasing for such an old DVD. During some of the action scenes, the surround effect can be heard with a light bass. The picture quality was very pleasing as well with very colorful and bright images, however a few minor distractions here and there, but nothing to take your eye off the screen.

You are probably wondering why I gave this movie 4 stars. That is simply because the movie was very featured in a full-frame format, as opposed widescreen. Besides that, if you are a spoof fan, go out and rent or even buy this movie and you will definately love it.

Summary: Great Spoof Movie
Review: This movie is based on real events from actual movies. This is the ultimate spoof and a great Leslie Nielsen movie. It parodies more movies than you can shake a severed arm at! It's got action, comedy and romance, but mostly comedy. This laugh-a-minute class Nielsen movie is sure to be a great addition to your DVD library! A Great Movie!

Summary: Toilet Humor
Review: I saw this movie a day after I saw "The Fugitive". This movie had alot of laughs. Like the Marshall who is supposed to play the Tommy Lee Jones character was halarious, they made fun of him very well. I also like Leslie Nielson style of comedy. The thing is in the last 15 minutes the movie just stops being funny. This isn't one of the best Parodys I have seen. Go see some of his better movies like The Naked Gun and Airplane. Overall see this movie if you want some good laughs but when its over you won't be totally satisfied.
