Summary: Great Modern day love story
Review: If you like a little love and happiness with drama and suspense go see brown sugar.

  Summary: Love with Soul
Review: You have to appreciate a romantic movie that features African Americans with none of the typical issues. Everyone is employed, no one is in a gang, no one dies and love is enjoyed by all of the main characters at some point. This is a positive spin on romance and with realism blended in for believability

  Summary: Great film!
Review: This film has nothing to do with the Rolling Stones' 1971 hit of the same title. This film involves urban styles of music, mostly rap and hip-hop. This film is set at first in 1984,when breakdancing was a big thing. Great film!

Summary: The Most Boring movie ever!
Review: This is such a dull movie, after i watched it i could not believe that plans for releasing this movie were not shelved for good. Let me break it down:
 1. Even though queen latifah has a very small part in the movie there ain't no comedy at all.
 2. Sanna Lathan (Sidney) keeps on saying every 5 minutes'I first fell in love with hip hop....'. O.K whatever, you love hip-hop. We like get it. Moving on..
 3. The only people i'll recommend this movie to are those who have trouble sleeping at night.
 4. I want my DVD rental money back
Watch Malibu's most wanted + soul plane instead.

  Summary: At Last!
Review: It's nice to see African-Americans depicted in a positive light for a change and Brown Sugar does just that. It is infused with ambition, humor and romance!

Summary: I fell in love with hip hop when ....
Review: ...I watched this movie. To those reviewers who feel they have to write scathing reviews of other people's work: "those who can -- do; those who can't -- criticize." The acting in this movie is great, the music is great. The story, even if a little predictable, is fine, too. I've seen this film about 8 or 10 times on HBO and still couldn't see enough of it, so I bought my own copy. Every time I see it, I find something new to like about it.
