Summary: Absolutely hilarious
Review: I watched and 'taped' this show from my cable TV her in England. Ellen was brilliant and got over her initial nerves very quickly. I have watched and re-watched the tape loads of times and each time it makes me laugh. Now that the original is up for sale, I'll be buying it. It's so good I'm going to buy a US version of the tape from Amazon, who I hope will mail it to my cousin in Florida.

Keep up the good work Ellen. (...)

Summary: Great comedy
Review: I'll start by telling you that I do not own the DVD (yet), but I have seen the HBO special, so I will be commenting on the routine that I have seen, which I assume would be pretty identical with the exception of editing and such.

I have never really had any feeling of whether I liked or disliked Ellen until I saw this comedy special. Though some of it deals with her coming out, the comedy can be enjoyed by anyone. It was a truely great prefromance to watch, and I highly recomend it for great laughs all the way through!

Summary: Disappointing
Review: I'm a HUGE Ellen fan, but I was pretty disappointed with this performance. Her timing was off, and the material was more autobiographical than comical. As a long-time Ellen fan, I was disappointed.

Summary: Ellen is halirious!
Review: I've seen and heard so much of her older stuff before watching this. Somehow she failed to make me laugh out loud once. I dont mind that she keeps on making pointless references about her sexual preference, but its simply not funny... I hate to beleive that this is Ellen at her best, so if you're expecting something special from her, this is not it.

Summary: Ellen is halirious!
Review: Not only is she funny, but some of her comedy makes very valid points. Like she she says "Do we still need directions on the back of a shampoo bottle. Who's shampooing for the first time anybody? IAnd if you are you can't read anyway. And there's also a 1-800 number in case the directions are too vague for you. the only thing more pathetic that calling the 1-800 number is working at the 1-800 numer." That is not only very funny, but it also makes a valid point. this is a must buy for any Degeneres fan

Summary: Brilliant comic performance
Review: This is one I had to own even though I've seen it 10 times on HBO. It never gets old as the subtlety in the performance is fascinating to watch. This is not about jokes this is about a journey into the comic mind and is not about being gay although that does play a part of it. Fans and non-fans alike I think will enjoy this wonderful show.

Summary: Gotta love Ellen!
Review: This is typical Ellen material. Funny, funny, funny! I didn't care for the "lunch with God" bit towards the end, but it's still worth five stars.

Summary: Only 1/3 is funny
Review: This is worth a rental, but not a purchase.Parts were funny, but she seemed to drag out several parts that just didn't work. True Ellen fans will love it, because its...well Ellen, but I'd rent this one.

Summary: Awesome!!!
Review: This was the most funny video I have seen and she is awesome. She made me laugh so hard I couldnt stand it. The best part as a part of the gay community she has shown others that the lifestyle can and is in the "norm".
