Summary: makes me scared to go in a catholic church!
Review: I first saw this when i was young and i have seen it several times since then and it still freaks me out! this is one of those films they need to make more of!
Its about a family living a nightmare when a person in a yellow raincoat and mask begins killing off parts of their family. all the evidence points to Alice(excellant played) but is it really her? the twists and turns keep coming and the end is a shocker. everyone in this film does an excellant job. excellant direction, acting, and that creepy music. like i said, they dont make movies like this anymore and they should! recommended highly

Summary: A Chilling Classic...Get It If You Can...
Review: I just got my hands on this dvd and must say it was impressive. Alice, Sweet Alice is a chilling tale about a jealous sister who murders her own sister...then tries to take her place amidst the family. All the while, the authorities are trying to figure out the details of the sister's murder, meanwhile more murders take place around the story, and the aunt and mother of the jealous sister (played beautifully by Paula Shepherd) are growing irritated from each other. The ending is absolutely twisted, and this was Brooke Shield's first film. The opening credits are bone chilling and the movie is dreamy and atmospherically scary. Don't let this one pass you by! A good rental or watch for anyone just looking for a good scare right away.

Review: I Know What You Did Last Summer came out a couple decades after Alice Sweet Alice and there is no similarity between the ASA mask and the mask in Halloween. This movie is very maccabre and it rocked!!!

Review: I'm not sure exactly what people see in this film. Maybe it was a hype in the late 70's but there is nothing to it that made me go, "Ooh.. Ahh." I went to my mom's in TN back in 2000 and I rented this because the front cover looked interesting. I'm a hard core horror/slasher movie person. I don't find the stuff awesome but it's fun to get the 'ish scared out of you every now and then. I got it and was disappointed.. A lot. 5 minutes into the movie I got up and spent the rest of the time outside.

The movie basically just talks about a young girl who kills her sister but nobody knows about it. Then through out the movie, she tends to go psycho on everyone. She's a disturbed, demented, and psychologically insane child who keeps to herself. The movie consists of whinning, screaming, yelling, b*tching, and migraine-setting incidents. I'm glad I rented the movie instead of buying it though.

When Alice is suppose to kill, they cut the camera off and go to the next scene. The knife stays in the air, it doesn't even move. Then at the end, she runs and I believe she kills herself or gets killed. Either way, she dies.

I'd like to know what was interesting about this movie. I got more kicks watching Barney then I did with this. It's flat-out B-Rated; and those who know their movies know those kind of movies are stagged and suck.

Summary: shocking...engossing....perfect.....
Review: It took me over two years to give this film a chance. When I first saw this, I was the type of person who watched movies for entertainment and hated to be bored. Since taking up screenwriting, my opinions and taste have obviously changed, but let's not discuss that.

Made in the late 70's by director Alfred Sole, I wasn't so sure this film would be in my taste range. Seemed like another cheesy 70's slasher. After reading many positive reviews on the film, I decided to give it a shot, and was pleasantly surprised. The film is never boring and the suspense is terrific.

It starts off with a bang and ends the same way. Paula Sheppard plays Alice, a hot-headed and grumpy problem child who lives with her adorable little sister Karen, played by Brooke Shields, and single mom. When Karen is murdered during her first communion and Alice takes her place in line, suspicion immediately falls upon her as the murderer. Even her aunt begins to suspect Alice. This brings Alice's estranged father to town for an investigation to prove his daughter's innocence.

Meanwhile, the killer, wearing a yellow slicker and doll's mask continues the rein of terror, as he begins to target Alice's family.

This is not a typical slasher film as it mixes elements of Catholicism that become essential to the film. That doesn't really matter though, as the film is a terrific whodunit. You find yourself wondering if Alice really is the killer or not. Not trying to give anything away, the revelation truly is a shocking one, as are most of the death scenes in the film. Some of them are just so unexpected and very well done. The performances are also exceptionally wonderful, especially that of 19 year old Paula Sheppard who plays the 12 year old Alice. This is definitely a film I recommend to anyone looking for a tasteful slasher film. It is so different than many others out there, delivering more shocks and thrills than any other film of that time.

Originally released as "Communion", and "Holy Terror", it was later released under this title to cash in on Brooke Shields' popularity after the film "Pretty Baby" became a hit. This film is intelligent and entertaining. It truly is ahead of it's time. Highly recommended.

Summary: ALICE, SWEET ALICE!
Review: Most people know about "Alice, Sweet Alice" because it marks the film debut of 12-year BROOKE SHIELDS! But people who like this above-average THRILLER know it has to do with director ALFRED SOLE's sense of the macabre! This one has some very CHILLING scenes long after Brooke has come and gone! She plays a young girl who is suspected of killing her sister right before receiving first communion! It turns out there are a whole bunch of murders surrounding this parish! I always liked the TAG-LINE for this 1976 film: "If You Survive This Night... Nothing Will Scare You Again." Okay, so it is not exactly true! But it sounds good to me!

Summary: is this the same MOVIE????
Review: The beginning was pretty good but it got so strange, and I found myself asking.....How did that other killer get a mask like Karen? You can tell the difference between ALICE and KAREN one's fat and the other is not!
