Rating: Summary: What a really depressing movie Review: This movie sent me into a blue funk for two weeks. Why? The movie was too true to life in most respects. The one big flaw, the thirteen year old runaway who gets a job in a strip joint, but won't go topless (Hollywood couldn't get away with that). In real life the thirteen year old could have gotten the job but would've done more than strip (see Traci Lords). The two runaways live a really depressing life. If you are mentally strong, watch the movie. If the news upsets or depresses you, skip this movie altogether.
Rating: Summary: Long may you run Review: When I was 13 years old, circa 1986,I became obsessed with this movie. Not because it was well made but because it was the only movie that featured two manic depressive(another name for seeking freedom from society's prison)girls. This film definitely belongs in a time capsule. Many many years ago there was a whole new world that revolved around music.People dedicated their lives to expression not just monetary consumption.I mean depression used to be fun for a kid,now its just another reason they put you on prozac.I ended up becoming a squatter on the Lower East Side, almost being murdered, traveling everywhere. This movie is pure Hollywood fluff but for a kid it seems like something important.A dream I guess.
Rating: Summary: One of the 10 greatest films of all time Review: wonderful music, wonderful realistic story. a guide for how to live! FREEDOM! watch it every day. why is there not a soundtrack CD
