Summary: Impressive Results
Review: After losing 65 pounds, I felt I needed to improve my flexibilty and tone my muscles. I purchased Yoga for Inflexible People because of rave reviews online. Within a month, my muscles began to tightned, my joints were more relaxed and my energy level increased. I was pleased with the results and highly recommend it to anyone who is a beginner.

Summary: this DVD doesn't even deserve a star
Review: although the content of the material is in agreement with the name (it shows ways of making the yoga moves less painful if you are inflexible), the film itself looks as if it was shot in someone's home. the woman performing the yoga positions is anything if inflexible. the use of a voiceover makes one feel rushed to keep up. they even do some positions that I, who am no longer a beginner at yoga, balk at doing.
instead of buying this DVD, you should just go to a health club and ask the instructor how to make the positions more comfortable. this DVD was a waste of money.

Summary: This is Great!
Review: As someone who is rather inflexible and who is beginning to explore the world of yoga, this is an incredible product!

I like to go to yoga classes, but have trouble fitting that into my schedule and following up in the weeks that pass between classes. So I had tried yoga videos by rodney yee and others, but found them to be far too fast paced to follow along, and had pretty much given up on them..

This is completely different from regular yoga videos or videos that have been transferred to DVD. There are sections on 1) standing poses, 2) seated poses, 3) strength and flexibility, 4) beginning basics and 5) shoulders and hips. It is made so that you can move between these sections to customize your workout and replay sequences within sections, when you want to see it again.
There's a ton on this DVD, something like 3.5 or 4 hours altogether, and it's fun to try and do different parts on different days.

I wanted to give it 6 stars, but amazon only allows 5!

Summary: This DVD stinks
Review: Bad visuals, continual repetitions of warnings for every workout, poky workouts that bumble along endlessly, and crummy music. This is more like a book with bad pictures than a DVD. Also, the last time I looked, down dog did not involve using a chair. Get Shiva Rhea's Yoga Sanctuary CD instead.

Summary: <<Bend Without Breaking>>
Review: Being a mother of, now three, children I was afraid to even attempt a workout in fear that some ligament or joint somewhere would just snap! I have felt for the longest time that there was no room for exercise, let alone Yoga, in my life. After getting a tip from my sister in law, I was turned onto a bodywisdom media title called "Yoga For Everybody". After some research, I also found "Yoga For Inflexible People"...Perfect! The customized workouts are great, I've been excelerating at my own pace and am moving on soon to "Yoga For Everybody". My goal is to eventually counquer thier newest title, "Power Yoga For Every Body"! I highly reccomend this title for beginners, long out of daters and everyday people who miss touching thier toes!

Summary: I Feel Good!
Review: Great product! Perfect for someone like myself that doesn't know much about yoga and consider myself inflexible, in more ways than one! The routines are so varied, which I love and the attention to detail is really helpful. I was turned off to yoga because I went to a class that people were moving very quickly and I really didn't know what was going on. This video allows me to approach yoga on my terms and it feels sooooo good. Enjoy!

Summary: A disappointment
Review: I am not a yoga expert. I bought this because I wanted to start regularly doing yoga with my husband who has back pain. He agreed to try but wasn't enthusiastic so I thought, okay we will start out slow so we don't get discouraged. Sadly, this was so slow that it actually discouraged us. You do get a thorough introduction to each pose, but I felt that they were expecting rather a lot for inflexible people or beginners to hold their arms straight out for two to three minutes while they explained the pose. When my husband couldn't hold the pose the entire time he felt discouraged. The slow pace was also boring for us. Each workout began with about five minutes of disclaimers followed by a sales pitch to buy your yoga props from the company producing the video. We kept wanting to skip ahead but the structure of the DVD made this difficult. You can choose the workout you want but within that you are stuck with going through the poses in the order they are presented even though each pose is presented in its own little segment. My husband felt that the spoken instructions were unclear and didn't match the poses being shown. Even though many workouts were provided, most of them were at least half an hour and some were an hour and a half. I guess if I were a serious yoga enthusiast with a lot of spare time that would be great but I am just starting and fifteen or twenty minutes is all I was looking for as a beginner. Finally, this was not an attractively presented program. The person practing the poses looked unhappy and unhealthy, and all the poses were practiced against a depressing gray background, unlike other yoga dvd's I have seen where the workout takes place on a beach or in a desert. We were ready to try here but everything about this program discouraged us. I don't suggest this unless you are wanting to concentrate deeply on individual poses for an extended period of time.

Summary: Not for beginners
Review: I bought this thinking that it would serve as a good beginning for yoga. One would think that most beginners would be inflexible and those who practice yoga are probably flexible. Wrong! There is little if any in the way of explanation of terms used to describe movements and the narrator goes through the exercises very quickly. Confusion can result from watching this video while exercising since the narrator refers to "right" and "left" but the demonstrator is moving "left" and "right". If you are already familiar with yoga terminology regarding muscle and body movements this might work for you.
