Summary: A Man Apart-Not the Best yet Not the Worst
Review: A Man Apart, the new action flick starring Vin Diesel is virtually pointless. This is simply one of those simple, decent action flicks of the year. Vin Diesel with his limited acting abilities plays a DEA agent by the name of Sean Vetter. Vin is working on a big case, capturing a deadly drug lord. After a successful hit on drug deal, Sean's wife is killed. Vetter who only feels vengeance throws away the rule book and searchs for the reasons to the tragic loss. His buddy played by Larenz Tate offer the laughs in this decent film. Fans of most cop movies would judge that this film offers reasonably good plot twists and bloody mayhem in a bad formulaic mix. Though this film is no
where near a work of cinematic art, it can be a bit entertaining.
Director F. Gary Gray creates something here, but had much more success with the recent remake "The Italian Job," now in theatres. A Man Apart is rated R for Strong Graphic Violence, Language, Drug Content and Sexuality. The film consists of bloody though somewhat hard to watch gunfights, a brutal head bashing, mild sexual innuendo and strong profanity. I saw this one in theatres, but it wasn't worth it really. Not really worth getting on Video or DVD unless it's under $$$. See it, if you're just a fan of Vin Diesel, but even Vin can't make this movie worth watching. On Video and DVD, September 2, 2003.

Summary: now i finally think that van diesel could act well.
Review: this is so far the only movie that i think van diesel really got some potential being a real actor. he did well in this film and very convincing. the script is somewhat too loose and random. the camera did well, directing could be better. by viewing the deleted scenes, i was pleased that the editor/director did a better job by deleting those purposeless scenes. one of the firefights scenes is the 2nd best shooting scenes i've ever seen besides the 'heat'. not bad at all, 'casue i didn't fall asleep as when i watched segal's 'out for a kill', i indeed fall asleep during it. van diesel still has to work on his two dead fish eyes. he need put more energy into his focus of his eyes, then he would become even better.

Summary: If not for Vin Diesel, the movie might have tanked
Review: Yes, this movie has a rather bad ending. That said, the movie demands your attention all the way through, something I attribute to actor Vin Diesel's on screen charisma. This movie demostrated his capability as an actor, showing his sensitive side in the beach love scenes with his character's wife, and the rugged action hero most audiences are accustomed to from his prior movies. There are great one-liners, and great action sequences from a "man's man" who remains popular with the ladies. Great movie for a couple to rent or buy

Summary: Great Movie a Must see
Review: This movie is great and a must see. Vin shows his true acting abilities and that he can be more than a tough guy that drives a car. Great movie I would recommend it to anyone who loves action, and it also has a great story about love intertwined with it.

Summary: VANILLA PLOT. DIESEL OUTGROWS FRUITCAKE ACTION HERO IMAGE.
Review: Yet another cop movie with revenge and (attempted) drama thrown in for good measure. Nothing special, but a decent Friday night popcorn flick.

It resembles a Die Hard in the ghetto, with a bunch of homeys helping Diesel take out the drug cartel (our villainous terrorists) with several dark, gory scenes of rampant violence -- including one super gun fight scene. It was precisely the stuff I was looking for, so I got what I expected.

I don't agree with people who say Diesel can't act and are vehemently dedicated to writing him off as a fruitcake with biceps. He can act, if you are willing to look beyond the recent spate of hyperaction fillers he has been working with (XXX for example). I've seen his brief stint in Boiler Room before, and this movie confirms that he can frown and emote alright.

On the other hand, this clearly isn't A Movie Apart either. It is your average cop drama, done quite OK, but of course you weren't expecting a Bad Boys were you? My guess is this was intentionally meant as a vehicle for Diesel to move on from his current stereotype.

Summary: Great cop action drama...
Review: I went into this movie hoping that it would be one of Vin Diesel's better movies. I left feeling just that. Vin does a great job of portraying a cop who loses his wife and is at the breaking point. Some people say he can't act...well they've obviously never seen this movie. For any Vin Diesel fans or any cop drama fans, this is going to be a must-have for this year.

Summary: TO BE CONTINUED........
Review: In 'A Man Apart' Diesel plays agent Sean Vetter a DEA officer who loves his wife and life very much and does not want or expect it to change. However once he arrests the top drug lord Memo Lucero (Geno Silva, Scarface) in California or perhaps maybe even in the whole United States everything changes. After he comes home to his loving wife Stacey (Jacqueline Obradors) and falls a sleep a unexpected visitor comes in and starts shooting at them and hits and kills his wife. From there Vetter starts to lose his compusure at work and is fired. But this does not stop his from getting his revenge and gathers his whole crew together including his best friend and old partner from the DEA Demetrius Hicks (Larenz Tate, Dead Presidents),his friend Big Sexy (George Sharperson) and his whole gang.

Summary: one of his best performances
Review: Vin Diesel in A Man Apart, would have to of been one of his best performances.Being the main character the film was more focused on his character and compared to the rest of his films A Man Apart actually made you realize theres more to Vin Diesel than his deep voice and his great looks.Although he has played main roles in previouse films, i found they wernt as focused on his role as this one.Vin Diesels character is very strong and powerfull and apart from The Fast and The Furious and XXX,the role he played in A Man Apart actually suites him.
Combined with his stunning looks, musculine phisique, and manly voice, Vin Diesel was deffenately the actor to play the part in this remarkable film.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great
Review: I thought that they did a great job on this movie. Now i know why its rated "R" I mean for the language, blood, nudity. I would recommend it for people to 16-17 years old.
