Summary: haha
Review: Very cute movie. It portrays the life of 4 friends having what I guess you could call, a mid-life crisis. Ewan Mcgregor did a fantastic job of being the goofball in the movie. He was adorable. I was suprised by the movie, because it was a surfer movie, but it had a nice plot. A good plot. It was humorous how it all worked out.

Summary: In the Boneyard of Our Discontent
Review: While certainly not an epoch of popular themes, teen angst, or any of the currently popular monster-from-outer-space themes...this movie does a great deal to capture the spirit of its locale and featured characters. Not being a big fan of surfer movies, I dived in with great trepidation; but the movie surprised me with a well of good characters and a seemingly meaningful social subtext about subculture and the free ranging human spirit. Loved the rave scene!

Summary: Nice way to spend an afternoon
Review: Who would have thought there was such a thing as a British surfer movie, yet here it is. As the Amazon reviewer stated Britain is an island, so it should seem obvious:-). It's interesting to see Catherine Zeta-Jones before her "Zorro" and Michael Douglas days and she's cute and quite charming. Sean Pertwee is also cute and sympathetic as a guy torn between his extended adolescence and starting grown-up life in his 30's. This isn't heavy viewing but it's an enjoyable way to spend a couple of hours; plus you learn a bit about a little known "surfer culture". (It is British as shown by the fact that Pertwee's character's mates, including Ewan McGregor looking suitably grungy in the role of Dean--the chronic loser screw-up, are in London at the beginning of the film and drive to where Pertwee's character is. You can't drive from London to Australia<g>)
