Summary: Without A Trace - YOU once you buy this set ;)
Review: A fascinating drama TV show. My favourite. Well written, casted and acted. You've got to love the writer who called a character Samantha Spade :+). The 'agents' work smoothly together and there is a real sense of teamwork between them. At the same time the introduction of a new team member - Martin - in the early episodes is realistically handled.

The DVDs are well proctected in their fold out case and slip cover. The on screen menus are easy to use and there is a hardcopy booklet with an episode guide as well. If I were being greedy more 'extras' would have been lovely (those that are included are good), but with 22 episodes of Without A Trace before you - would you watch them?

Summary: Must have for ALP fans
Review: As an Aussie Without a Trace / Anthony LaPaglia fan, this DVD set is a must buy (even if it only plays on my computer DVD player). ALP truly is the show's rock - he MAKES it so compelling and repeated watching of his fine performances only make you appreciate what an extraordinary actor he is. All the other cast members are also wonderful ( especially Marianne Jean-Baptiste and Eric Close) , and you see how fine the set and production values are. The extras are fascinating too - especially the commentary for Fall Out. One slight gripe is that while all the other actors are interviewed on their characters/ favourite episodes, Anthony LaPaglia is noteably absent ... I would have loved to see his take on the complex JAck Malone. That said, it's a fantastic DVD set you want to watch over and over to see the subtle or not so subtle performances.

Summary: Deb from PA
Review: Excellent series with outstanding performances by the entire cast. Anthony LaPaglia is brilliant as Jack Malone and the other cast members are so good, I can't pick a favorite. The storylines are riveting and you find yourself caring about the missing people and their families. Not all of the episodes have a happy ending but this makes the show even more realistic. The only downside to buying this collection is that is it very addictive! You'll find yourself saying "just one more episode" and staying up half of the night! Can't wait for season 2 to be released.

Summary: TV that doesn't insult your intelligence
Review: From the world of Jerry Bruckheimer comes a smartly written, smartly acted, and altogether intriguing drama. The series follows a group of specialized FBI agents through the time they learn of a missing person through the time that person is found (alive or dead). Periodically, subtitles pop up to let the viewer know how much time has passed, and as the hours tick by, the sense of urgency grows.

With a cast led by the great Anthony LaPaglia, this is well-written and well-acted television. On DVD, the episodes run about 40 minutes each.

Summary: LaPaglia + Brukheimer = Outstanding Series - GREAT!
Review: I was late to begin watching this series and missed the entire first season. I was thrilled to find it in a DVD set.

It is very well cast, has outstanding writers, and terrific cinematography. LaPaglia is the lead in a wonderful collection of accomplished actors who play off one another very well. His character is well rounded and exhibits tremendous depth. He is intelligent, tough, vulnerable and caring (much as his character is in the movie, Lantana). The stories have a good balance between the missing person(s) plots and the personal lives of the characters. They really draw you in. Several of the episodes are spellbinding, especially the last two. Only a couple are less than great. Where can you get so much quality entertainment at such a bargain price!? I am eagerly awaiting the release on DVDs of Season 2.

Summary: Excellent series!
Review: This is a truly well written crime series.Characters are well developed and each episode is very interesting and not predictable. The bonus material is also great, especially the commentary by the director on how the series was "improved" from the pilot. My favourite episodes are the 2 episodes that feature Charles S. Dutton.
Highly recommended! An excellent gift as well:-)

Summary: It Gets Better
Review: This is the best show I almost missed. When I watched the pilot for "Without a Trace," I hated it. The lighting was too dark, the actors mumbled their lines, and the background music was too loud to hear what they were mumbling.

I tried it again a few weeks later. It was like watching a different show! The lighting was brighter, and you could understand what the actors were saying.

After a few episodes, "Without a Trace" became one of my favorites.

The writing is excellent and has to be. The narrow format (a person disappears, the FBI team investigates, and what happened is revealed) requires that the characters that vanish must be interesting--and they are! They also do a good job of varying the ending. Some weeks, the missing person is found and reunited with his or her family, and other weeks, the ending isn't so happy.

However, the best episodes on these disks are the ones that break the format. The 2-part episode that concludes Season 1, involving a hostage situation involving one of the agents, is one of the most suspenseful TV episodes I've ever seen. The episode in which Anthony LaPaglia's character is under investigation by the Internal Affairs-like division is not that far behind.

The actors are outstanding, especially Anthony LaPaglia as Jack Malone. I invite people to watch him on this show, then watch him play Jane Leeves' drunken brother, Simon, when the later episodes of "Frasier" come out. You will not believe the same actor is playing both characters.

Poppy Montgomery is also excellent. How can any character named Samantha Spade not be interesting? She can question me any time.

Anyone who hasn't seen these shows should definitely check out these DVDs.

Summary: An Excellent Series!!
Review: Without a Trace focuses on the Missing Persons Unit of the FBI in New York City. This group of five headed by Jack Malone (Anthony Lapaglia) must find out who the missing person was to find out where they might be. They work backwards in time and forward in a race to find the missing person before 48 hours are up. Because after 48 hours chances of finding them alive are very slim.

This show is without a doubt one of the best on TV. I happened to stumble upon the reruns and was watching because I thought Anthony Lapaglia looked familiar. Of course I was thinking of Simon Moon from Frasier. By the time I could get my husband to confirm my suspicions I was hooked on this show. It is so well written and filmed that you can't watch and not become addicted.

The cast of this show is great. These five actors will make you forget your watching TV and make you believe your part of the team trying to solve the case. The writing is wonderful. In addition the way the show is filmed will leave you wanting more. I just can't say enough about this show. It has been awhile since I've been so excited about a TV show.

This DVD package is so great. The quality is excellent. And the extras are very entertaining. You go behind the scenes to learn how the show was developed and how the cast was picked. Then you can learn how the sets were made and discover that they actually have an ex-FBI man as an advisor to make the show look and feel real. This is just great. This shows the interest and pride the producers take in the show to go to the length of having an advisor help in making it real. I think this has a great deal to do with why the show is such a success and seems real.

This DVD is a must have for any fan of Without a Trace. It will provide some of the most entertaining hours on TV.
