Summary: La Dolce Vita
Review: A fun book, full of colour, beauty-made-simple and the good life. I wish I had time and money to live in-between the pages. Fekkai's lust for life springs from every page. The photos are beautiful, some delicious easy-to-prepare recipes and something to share with your girl-friends.
Just do it!

Summary: A Beautiful Book of Beauty
Review: A year's worth of beauty and lifestyle tips overflow this sure-to-be classic guide from international stylist Frederic Fekkai. Among other things, readers learn how to sip a citron-presse (French lemonade) and how to style one's face in a variety of modes. And the author is no hypocrite when it comes to style: I saw him casually last summer and he looked every bit as debonair as he does in the photos that grace his book.

Highly recommended, especially to women in need of a style update.

Summary: Highly recommended
Review: Although this is an expensive book it is definitely worth the money. If you're looking for a sane and sensible approach to every aspect of personal style I'd advise you to ignore the fashion magazines and buy this instead. Fekkai, through text and photographs, shows the natural approach to bringing out every woman's personal best look - and it has nothing to do with trends or money. I bought this as a treat for myself but surprisingly, it ends up being very much of a 'simplify your life' type of book. I'm really impressed!

Summary: The book describes it's author
Review: As one of the poorer and unknown clients of Frederic whilst living in New York, I soon discovered what Frederic writes, he lives and preaches. He taught me that classic simplicity, good taste and graciousness does not have a dollar amount. Like Audrey Hepburn in Sabrena, I was the woman transformed. Frederic is a knowledgeable tutor in the world of beauty. Since few of us will have the opportunity to meet Frederic, buy this book. It is the man, his work and his philosophy embodied. After you read it, you will want to be it!! Enjoy.

Summary: fabuleux!
Review: Combining simple and natural ideas with stunning photography, Frederic Fekkai has captured the essence of French Stylings.

With ideas for each month and season, and more "specific" daily ideas, A Year in Style truly offers a year of ideas on how to become chic, stylish and live simply.

There are a lot of make-up and hair suggestions without mentioning products, which I find useful. I don't like a book to sound like one big advertisement and this doesn't - despite the fact Frederic Fekkai owns two salons and sells a hair care line.

His suggestions are more about living in style than obessing with style. It encourages one to relax about beauty and embrace their own inner style. I love that about this book; it's not about conforming which is why this book could only be written by a Frenchman.

Summary: The best $25 I ever spent!
Review: Don't be fooled by the simplicity of the suggestions! When I first read this book, I thought it was nothing more than a coffee table book full of musings. But then I tried some of the suggestions, and the results were amazing. For example, the french olive oil soap he suggested cleared up a skin problem I've had my entire life (I couldn't even get rid of it with antibiotics), and made my skin very soft.

Also, his method of blow drying hair works much better than mine. I do it all the time now, with great results.

I've tried the makeup and fashion ideas, and received a lot of compliments.

The ideas in this book might be obvious to people who already look great, but for clueless people like me, it's perfect!

Summary: Being your best
Review: Each page helps you add a bit of sophistication and class to your day, 365 days a year. Fekkai offers ways to enhance your beauty and enjoy life with specific advice each day. Great personal style book. A++++++++++++

Summary: Meisterwerk
Review: Frederic Fekkai: coiffeur, artiste, homme. In this compendium, for no book could encapsulate the whole of the great man's knowledge and genius, Frederic imparts unto us his core
philosophy in a literary medium. Plato, Wittgenstein, Fekkai - the progression is seamless and the association inevitable.
There can't be a day goes by when I don't think of the Frenchman's "grand projet" of a New York salon and am not proud to be an Englishman.
The book addresses all of life's core issues that beleaguer the modern woman and, indeed, man. I've made a lot more friends since I learnt how to sip a citron presse in the manner
promoted by the book and I can practically feel the respect that emanates from the room towards me as a result. Thank-you, Frederic!
Hailing from Aix-en-Provence, France, Europe, Freddie proves that Aix HITS the spot. His gallic influences prove that sometimes it IS good to let your roots show with so many beauteous sirens adorning the pages freshly Fekkai'd up.

To summise, this doctrine is both objet d'art and manual for modern living. I proclaim it a gift to civilisation. Surely nobody with a wobbly coffee table on an uneven floor can afford to be without this book?
