I see this book as a fundamental textbook during a first year visual arts foundation program. Provided the teacher researches each chapter with a large enough amount of images, one such course could help educate future visual artists. The range of issues covered is amazing. The author demonstrates to be very well read. If your foundation course teacher doesn't adopt this book do yourself a favor and buy it. It is easy to read, study, and research on your own. There are very good bibliographic suggestions. I am of the opinion that the book could be published with more color content, perhaps even hardbound, more like a standard textbook, because that's exactly what it is. And a dam good one too! Congratulations Mr. Zakia!
