Rating: Summary: Paper revelation Review: i found this book to be very inventive, it truly shows the many possibilties of paper, and especially the importance of how a tasteful choice of paper and usage can positively change a design. Paper truly holds a power over the turnout of a design! i strongly recommend her new book as well, Minimal Graphics for any other designer who loves simplistic yet powerful design layouts!
Rating: Summary: This is a strong collection of designs on and about paper. Review: That this is an inspiring collection was confirmed for me as I was sending back many hundreds of samples to generous contributing graphic artists. I collected many times more material than the book could hold, partly to be thorough in the research and partly because of my great interest in the subject. As I repacked slides into sleeves and printed matter into envelopes, I was struck by the cleverness, beauty and functionality even of the pieces that did not make it into the book. Then I knew that we had assembled the best of the best. No sample is offered without context: Every design in the book is accompanied by its own short article that explains what the original assignment was, how the solution was found, and what paper stock and other materials were used. When possible, readers also learn how much the project cost and how it was received by its audience. This is truly a "feed your head" book-but it was my goal that is should feed both the left and right sides of the brain.
Rating: Summary: Watch it while dreaming of big clients knocking at your door Review: This book is full of juicy and impressive design works using paper folding, cutting, coating techniques. Many examples of very high-end solutions and complicated designs that are a real pleasure for the eye of a graphic design lover. Just be prepared to answer the question that will jump into your brain: when could I get a client with such an enormous budget to afford these productions?. Good luck!.
