Summary: A gorgeous, informative, and truely inspiring book!!!
Review: Ms Moran delights us with her impressionistic work. Her subject is vases of large, informal bouquets of flowers. After an introduction depicting the materials and tools she prefers, she goes trough detailed demonstrations showing and explaining the various stages of a painting . The book is full of pertinent advice on composition and execution .She devotes a section on drawing, and how to measure and be accurate. She addresses the topic of lost and found edges.She talks about about tonal values and brushwork.There is an interesting page of catchphrases she uses when teaching . I feel this book would be very helpful to any aspiring artist because of the specific advice and guidelines given.I also believe an accomplished artist would enjoy the beauty of Ms Moran painting and would find interest in some of the unconventional advice. This is my most favorite book on the subject of painting flowers in oil!
