Review: This is the 1999 edition of The American Concrete Institute's building code for Civil Engineers. This code contains all the requirements and provisions for building based on research and experience and it was compiled by committee number 318 of the ACI. The book also contains a commentary on all the regulations and formulas included. The commentary and the actual code are organized side by side so as to make things easier. The material is also divided into chapters and sections that are all organized in a neat table of contents and index in order to allow for an easy search of a certain subject. Another plus for this book is that everything that has changed from the last edition (1995) so that spotting updates is also easier.

Review: This is the update to the ACI 318-95. If you're looking to take the April PE 2002 exam or later, the ACI 318-99 is one of the referenced codes, so you'll need to update. If you use the ACI 318 at all, you already know its best to keep up with current information.
