Review: I am a beginner, this book was not for me, waste of my time.
No info on digital, incomplete explanations regarding lighting setups in the pictures displayed.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: great book if you own a 35mm
Review: I was very impressed by the photographs, but if you own a digital camera I would not recomend this book. It's approach on digital photograhpy is very limited if any. It is more focused on promoting the photographers that helped complete the book than helping the reader learn something practical.

Summary: A Classic...revised
Review: I will say two things about this book:
[a] The information the author provides is quite extensive, and he also showcases the work of numerous photographers, and it is quite helpful for people w/ my skill level (which I would tag @ beginner/hobbyist).
[b] Having owned a prior edition, I am glad that the editor retained the image on page 148, which is the reason why I developed (no pun intended) an interest in photography in the first place. You will have to buy a copy to find out why.
All in all it is an excellent choice.

Review: nice book, but I'm in to digital, too bad,
If your intentions are to establish a portrait studio (sears or walmart type), learn the basics of lighting, or the basics of digicams, forget it.
