Even more fun and useful are the chapters in the begininng -- Where to Buy Art, Dealing with Dealers, How to Sell, Restoration. They're a neat overview of the problems, pitfalls, and strategies for navigating the art market.

Summary: Don't leave home without it
Review: This book goes with me everywhere. Many non-specialty auctions have a few paintings worthy of consideration. I find that Theran's book {& several of her other books: on prints,etc,} makes a difference in how I bid. I have definitely been pleased with the results.

Review: While Theran's book has an excellent list of artists the price guide is way out of date and a new and updated edition is very definitely needed.
