Review: At the advent of the largely debased gay porn video genre in the 1980's, one figure rose to be the preeminent director-producer-videographer of the all male "crotch opera" (to use David Friedman's memorable phrase): Kristen Bjorn. Bjorn, ultra handsome himself, began as a model for Falcon Studios then graduated to the director's chair with CARNIVAL IN RIO in 1989. In the thirteen intervening years he has produced an almost endless stream of videos set in Australia, Budapest, Havana, the Curacas, and other of the world's most exotic locales and featuring eye-popping casts of incredible beauty and amazing stamina. I normally despise the video genre for its lack of imagination, its repetitiveness, and its flat look, but Bjorn has given gay porn some artistic validity with his razor-sharp photography and lush settings. Furthermore, and more importantly, he provides viewers, almost unfailingly, with electrifying and creative eroticism, in which the participants truly seem to want each other (and how many American counterparts can you say that about, even among the excellent Falcon line of product?).MEN OF THE WORLD is a photobook testament to the work and world of Kristen Bjorn. It is chock full of the handsome, muscular, and spectacularly endowed men for which Bjorn has gained his renown, all captured in Bjorn's beautifully lit, inimitable style. They are posed in solos, duos, trios, and more! There are beautiful men here to meet anyone's taste: blonds, Latinos, Africans, older men, twinks, etc. They are sweet, lecherous, unaware of their effect upon the viewer, and ALL TOO aware. Just try remaining calm as you thumb through these pages. Allow me to hazard an opinion and say this may be the very best book yet turned out by the redoubtable Bruno Gmunder Verlag operation, and that is saying a lot. The paper is superb, the photo reproductions glistening, and the overall book worthy of praise and celebration.

Over the years he has continually brought us beautiful, desirable men from around the world. This collection of all color nude images are of some of his best looking men. All of them have been filmed by Bjorn and appeared in his many erotic videos. Bjorn is a perfectionist whose technical brilliance makes most of these images seem three dimensional. He knows how to bring out the best in each of his models. This is a beautiful book, and at 120 pages, is larger than most photo books being published. If you're a fan of Bjorn's work, you'll appreciate this new book, or experience the excitement if you are a first time viewer of his talented work. One of the best! Joe Hanssen
